Scamwarners' URL would be a good addition. Is there someone else we can refer people to by phone? On the other hand, is it necessary? I remember my mum getting a 419 letter by post about 20 years ago, but I almost never hear of it happening these days (she was having none of it btw Wink

)

One other thought that occured to me was that we could include links or contact info for law enforcement agencies specific to the distribution locality, but I'm not sure about referring people to LEAs without at least implicit permission from them. Any thoughts on this?

I think before any get sent out with other contact information it would need there express permission and it would definately need to be made clear its not sent by them.

The last thing we want is a backfire that will harm our cause more than it benefits it.

Edit: I've contacted the Metropolitain police who have a very clear and simple page at http://www.met.police.uk/fraudalert/419.htm - awaiting a response.

Thanks nailgunner, it will be good to see what they say.

I've been having a few thoughts about strategy, there are plenty of opportunities to get the leaflets out whilst were checking, and other members in other countries may be able to provide guidance from there knowledge to form a global plan Smile

What we could do whilst we are working out the means, is to create some and ask places like doctors surgeries and pharmacies if we can leave some on the counter. That would start a slow flow, obviously these ones would be the plain message, but it is a workable starting point upon which we can quickly build upon.
