So it seems that my Candice scammer doesn't like me any more, no response in over a week. That's ok, I got a new one! This one from Face book!

http://bit.ly/bgUoAH

And oddly, I got a quick reply!

http://bit.ly/dAVU6X

Yeah they have my real name....potentially my real address...but < shrug >, since I am actually leaving the country in a few weeks, it doesn't bother me Smile

Enjoy the entertainment. It'll be obvious that I am going with 'the jaded internet user who calls out a scam when he sees one' methodology Smile Funny how this one is sticking with me....

JadedTech, please drop that scammer immediately.

He may have friends or relatives in your country, and it would not take them 'a few weeks' to pay you a visit.

Please review the safe baiting guidelines here:

I don't want to guess the number - But, lad, isn't that the best fun to be had with MoneyGram reference numbers?

Hi JadedTech. I agree with the Moderator who posted above me.

I am going to encourage you to read a lot of the Stickys and hints and tips.

Your comment to the scammer:
Quote:
Tell ya what, I’ll be a nice guy and give you 24hrs to close/delete your account before I report it to Facebook security you stupid scammer.

Who the hell is dumb enough to think that a 1992 Dynasty is worth shipping _anywhere_? Seriously!

So, like I said. 24hrs before I report your account.

Have a nice fucking day.

Sincerely,

The love of your life, Don

is not baiting. it is educating the scammer AND threatening the scammer who has your real life information.

Seems a bit risky to me and it really does nothing to deter the scammer. He can set up another FB account in minutes (and probably has many accounts already). It seems like a waste of time to approach a scammer in this way.

As Branwen said, the scammer has your information AND the information of your friends. Imagine if some of your real life friends start getting harassing emails and even phone calls because you pi$$ed off some scammer. Things like that can and so happen.

Best advice, drop him, read as much as you can. Get a Mentor (link in my signature line) and please bait safe.

Permanently cut off contact with this lad immediately. This is a serious matter and you really should have known better but since you're new it's best to read the forum rules and Eater University as a guide to help you.

Set up a fake gmail account with fake details and never educate or tell a lad that you are baiting him.

Drop him, there are many lads in the sea and you can find them in the Surplus forum.

Welcome to Eater and be safe. Wink
