I received the following letter recently
It turned out to be a fake and has caused a good deal of grief and inconvenience.
I am wondering just how many people are being targeted with the same email.
I am posting this here in the hopes that others might see it and be informed that this is FRAUDELENT
And a way to steal your money.
Paypal (the real Paypal) have been very helpful in this matter.

Information Regarding Your Account:

We have noticed several attempts of logins to your account. You are able to log into your account but all your payments are suspended untill you verify your personal information. PayPal works day and night to help keep your identity safe. That's why it has come to our attention that your PayPal account information needs to be verified as part of our continuing commitment to protect your account and to reduce the instance of fraud on our website. If you could take 5-10 minutes out of your online experience and verify your personal records you will not run into any future problems with the online service.
Important Notice : Failure to confirm your full credit card & billing information within 72 hour's will result with your account suspension.

The real PayPal would never ask you for any login details.
And even if they did they would ask you to log into the PayPal site itself.
Some phishing sites can look good, others are just lame.
If you are unsure, all you need to do is see where the link, they ask you to click, points to.
If it don't go to PayPal, your bank, ect..... then forget it. |
