i received an e-mail asking for a personal assistant, I have done these in the past and have been rewarded with tons of bogus checks, no biggy, but this new one wants to know how close I live to home depot wal mart and sams club, and wants a yahoo id, should I drop and run or play this out? |

Tell them your computer is set to block Yahoo and you aren't techy enough to know how to overide it and this is why you use gmail. Have you told them what city you are in yet? If not pick a city elsewhere then google for the locations of the stores, use Google Street to find a nice suburb and find a nice house, then use that as your address and give an approximate distance to each of the stores from there. |

Beaten to it by wilburwright! But anyway:
Have you invented a fake address for your character? If not, you could invent one right now, miles and miles away from where you actually live. Would there be a Home Depot and Walmart and Sams Club there? If so, you can tell the Lad, 'They are all in my town!' If not, you can say something like, 'Home Depot and Walmart are in a nearby town, but I don't know about Sams Club.' Or, 'I know what Walmart is, but what are those other places?'
If he wants you to have a Yahoo ID, he probably wants to chat to you on Yahoo Instant Messenger. So you could set up a Yahoo Account in your character's name, and then either use the Chat function through the mail account, or download Instant Messenger and use that. If you want to keep your IP address hidden, though, don't send him emails through Yahoo, and don't send OR receive anything (eg pictures) through the actual Messenger programme. (Make an excuse that it doesn't work.)
If you don't want to chat to him, you could pretend that your character is willing - but clueless. Ask him how to get a Yahoo ID. Ask him how to download Yahoo Instant Messenger. The latest version, if I remember correctly, has no option to de-select 'Add Yahoo Toolbar'. That could upset your character. Your character doesn't want a Yahoo Toolbar. Maybe their spouse will be cross if they install that! Oh dear, what should they do? Or the programme won't install correctly. Or it seems to have installed, but won't open. Or it opens, and then crashes.
Or you could just say no, you don't have time for that. Or you hate Yahoo, it never works properly, you just keep getting blank white screens. Or you are happy to Chat but only through Gmail Chat. And you keep trying to Chat to him, but he is never online when you are.
Alternatively, if you don't like this Lad - dump him, and choose one you like much better. There's plenty in Surplus waiting for your special care! |

I don't want to guess the number - But, lad, isn't that the best fun to be had with MoneyGram reference numbers? |

If you want a reason why you can't install the messenger application, use the Vista User Access Controls. Since most baiter personalities are not as computer literate as the baiter, they will come across (after the countless emails explaining how and where to download) the fact their account is not an admin account.
I don't know how the webmail version of the chat works, but if you ever need a reason why you don't use it - maybe you tried before but it keeps crashing your browser. You can try again, but chances are he will loose you for minutes at a time as you restart the browser and re-login etc. |

Yahoo chat doesn't sit very well with the old version of Firefox, my real life Yahoo chat would never open, you can create one and set the option 'busy' so he can't get you on it.
All he wants to do is hound you once the checks start flowing, could lead to a high speed bait, nothing to be scared of if you go along with his request to create a yahoo id. |
