Our Regional surveillance team have been monitoring the circulation of your “INHERITANCE FUND” scam attempt. We must warn you that they are very disappointed with this incompetent and unconvincing effort. You are displaying crass ignorance and they are cheesed off with reading the same old crap.

Just look at the elementary errors:

• Make up your mind whether you are CHANG or WONG

• You need to think up a more original story. The one about a dead customer leaving millions of dollars in a dormant account has been around for thirty years.

• If you had access to $42 million, you would not need to trawl the internet looking for complete strangers to assist in the theft. Any official in the UAE would be pleased to act as next of kin for a reasonable fee.

• “100% Risk Free ?? – what a load of crap !!! Stealing a dead mans cash is a criminal offence in the UAE as it is in every other Country. You get your hands chopped off.

You are a disgrace to the Scam industry Chang – or is it Wong.
It is obvious that you are incapable of absorbing the most basic rules of efficient scamming.
We have no alternative now but to have your accounts closed with GMail

Be warned, we will be monitoring your activities carefully just in case you are foolish enough to try and open an account elsewhere. You might retrieve a small segment of your poor reputation by sending an apology to our office. But be quick before your Gmail account is closed.

@ Pedro, care to emlighten us further what this relates to? As pointed out above, we don't like to educate scammers where they are going wrong, it just makes them better scammers by pointing out their mistakes, and as a result, more victims will fall for it their scam emails!

We don't close their email account down either, it takes them 1 minute to open a new one, doesn't inconvenience them in any way whatsoever so it's a waste of time.

Also, it interferes when helping scam victims, usually, we can show any potential victims who have received scam emails where that email address has been posted on the internet having been used in scams.

Some victims wont believe they are being scammed, but if they see references to the same email address and scam email on the internet when doing a Google search, they will know it's a scam, that can't happen if people keep closing their email addresses down, as their is no history of scam to search for on the now dead email addresses.

I don't get it. Is that an e-mail that you send out to scammers in order to squeeze an apology letter out of them, or is that an e-mail you received while sending out mass ASEMs?

In the case of the former, you're educating them quite a bit. Please don't. In the case of the latter, I'm quite certain it's a baiter/badger and not a real "Scam Investigation Center".

Look at his nickname and look at the signature of the email.
If you are educating lad, please don't do it! We don't point on their mistakes, because they will be better and as said above, more victims will fall into their scam.

^ that won't be too hard to find out. Like on most forums, staff can check the ip which he used to register, a simple trace can tell us alot already regarding that.

I know it seems a bit of fun, but please don't send this. Lads won't suddenly come to trust SIC-K and give you leads, but they may listen to your advice on how to scam better. We aim to de-educate lads, not teach them to be better scammers, under any guise!

In my beginnings I had massmailed an English textbook exercise to lads and Persephone commented "Please don´t do that, it could educate them. Rather make their langiage worse."
hehe. There are other more satisfying fake formats and deeducation things - or mass insults. How about that for a start? Look in the big thread in Publish Your Work Here! for inspiration.

Oh my....never help the lads improve their scamming so they can take in even more victims.

The terrible grammar, ridiculous and repetitive stories and certain turns of phrase ("100% Risk Free") are some of the flags that alert people to scams. Amazingly enough, people fall for this garbage (as bad as it is) in droves, and helping the scumbags upgrade and refine their scams is aiding these criminals.

Pedro, I don't know if you wrote that email or you found it somewhere or received it since you didn't explain and you're not replying, but if you wrote it I hope you return to the board and will take the advice offered here.

We think you give these elementary scammers too much credit in respect of their level of intelligence. If they are not already aware of some of the very elementary mistakes they are making, they certainly do not have the mental capacity to heed our advice and then develop a more plausible story

It is just possible that they really believe that there is a Scam monitoring organization that is keeping a close eye on them. They could well decide to give up the trade all together.

Our investigations show that in most cases those scammers that have received a critical report from SICK, ignore the recommendations and carry on with the same old tired and unconvincing story that they have used in the past.

its true that the majority won't heed your advice, but there will be some that use it and do create something new.

Never send anything that will actually help them, by all means, send stuff that will make things worse for them, they'l believe a lot of it (one of mine accepted that my character died from exploding lemons).

If you want to mess a lad up big time, you can alway pretend to be an oga looking for guymen for your gang, and then you can give them a personalised script that is so rediculous it wouldn't be believed by anyone, except the lad of course, who wil then send it out to a list of magas given by the oga (baiter addies collected here that are given happily)

I could not agree more with this statement. Humour is what takes the edge off the more serious and darker aspects of baiting.

Maybe you thought it was funny. We're just letting you know it's not. The simple fact remains, anything that tells a scammer what they're doing wrong is education, and therefore counter-productive.

Making mistakes is what makes scammers less successful, and considering the hundreds of millions lost globally, they do not need any help. Scammers who've been baited don't really learn from the experience. This entire forum is testament to that.

Shelve the SICK idea, or don't. No-one can stop you. When you've baited a lad or two (even the same lad) you'll see the bigger picture.

Pedro - I think you can be very funny, and still address the concerns being expressed by other posters.

Consider this: Why not put the following into your letter: "The use of the word "barrister" is now obsolete, but you don't know that. In the USA, the word "shyster" is now used."

Or "You use the words "100% risk free". Again, you are showing your ignorance. The proper American slang for this is "100% fictive"

Or "You refer to a dead customer having $42 million in a dormant account. Don't you know that when more than $5 million is involved, a banking account becomes "dissipated". If you had half a brain, you would describe it as a $42 million dissipated account"

My point is that you can have even more fun by teaching the scammers bogus information. Any of them that do pay attention to your letter will change their formats for the worse - - which is a good thing.

It can be argued that all scam baiting is a waste of time but we all have a variety of hobbies and do not measure them by the time they consume.
Sick only draws the attention of the scammer to their incompetence. Sick never suggests better ways of conning the recipient. The fact that the majority of scams merely mirror a well established story only confirms the inability of the scammer to be creative.

I assert that should the scammer take the slightest notice of a SICK report, he will conclude - if he is capable of doing so - that the scam industry is not for him as he does not have the mental capacity to be original.
