Pity, you could have wound up this guy for months if you'd felt like it. I get annoyed with chat scammers too, but since I found my new found hobby, I don't mind as much now Twisted Evil

Hi Mojo

I am glad to see you enjoying yourself with this scammer, I dont mean to be critical but as a baiter, there are some ways you can be more efficient.

As baiters there are a few points to consider
Remain safe - this is essential and the number one rule
Have fun - This is much more important than you think
Waste as much time and resource of the scammer as posible
Waste as little of your own resources as possible
De-Educate at every opportunity

There are some more rules but these are what you need to consider constantly while baiting

Every so often I will analyse a Chat session for educational purposes and it may be a benefit for you so I will do this one, first thing is to make all your comments read and all the scammers blue, we always want more blue than red. You have actually done well there

"am fine" that is always a great indication of a scammer but not proof

Scammers will often have multiple vics in chat at the same time so the more of their time you can occupy, the less tiem they have for the other potentially real victim

Here is a prime opportunity for the lad to start feeding you script, keep an eye on how far apart the chats are and look for a sudden improvement in writing skill, it isn't so obvious in this chat but I would think the latest bits are from his draft folder

From what we have seen so far you can be pretty sure it is a scammer, so start wasting his time, ask him about Dallas, he will madly try to make things up or use google for soem tips, you can point out who the local football team is (obviously pick the wrong team) and ask him about how they are going, has he seen any of their games, you thought everybody from Dallas was a fan of the poodles.

This is another thing we dont do, he made some mistakes in there that pointed him out to be a scammer, he will go through himself to see what gave it away and try to correct that for the next victim.

The enxt point is how non productive it is to report their email addresses.

Over time, scammers have their details posted on varius sites, anybody who does a search on their email address will often be led to a range of scripts and proof that the person they have met is a scammer, problem is that when their account is closed they create another on and we cant trace the new one.

Dont feel bad, you have done very well for your first go but you will get much better and more disruptive to them once you get some more practice, keep up the good work and always remember the baiting ideals I put at the top of the thread.

I made the newb mistake of telling them I was a computer major and I knew tricks to find their location - and then told them where -- drove them crazy to try to figure out how I found out -- and he eventually said "IP addy" and I told him "nope" but I had educated him Sad

Kept him for almost a year, just told him I didn't mind & understood why he lied ... and I wanted to get to know the real him...but when we had arguments I'd point out the whole relationship started on a lie (of course he'd point out that I had already forgiven him for that)...

Then I sent him on a couple safaris Twisted Evil
