Tell him that your bank just sent you a message stating that there was an issue with your account (identity theft etc) and that they had to freeze it until everything is sorted out.

Apologize profusely and make sure your lad knows it wasn't your fault.

It would be a real pity if there happened to be a bank robbery or bomb-scare while you were trying to send him the money.
Fortunately you got your money back. Unfortunately, the bank had to close for 2 days so law enforcement could conduct a proper investigation and interview everyone present during the event.

At this moment they've already apprehended one suspect and they're searching the bank now.

As long as the bank doesn't blow up my money will still be safe in there and nothing will happen to it, in that case I shall transfer it to you as soon as the bank opens again. If the bank does blow up, which seems a very unlikely scenario, my insurance will repay me the money and I can send it to you from another office.

Probably this is just some sort of escalated prank so there probably wasn't a bomb to begin with, but as soon as such a report comes in they have to handle it by the books. Reports of a bomb mean instantaneous evacuation of the building and the surrounding buildings followed by a thorough examination of the situation. At the moment they are probably searching for a bomb, and that searching will probably continue throughout tomorrow. That would mean that if I'm lucky the bank will open again tomorrow, and if I'm less lucky on Thursday. Please don't lose faith in me yet, you know I'm trying my damned best!
