20% when you're taking all the risk? I should coco. Tell "The General" you won't take a nickel under 33%. I bet you get it, too, if you ask nicely. Very Happy

I'm a newbie here myself, but I'd say play the percentage. Something like, "I'd love to help a fellow Army guy out, and your offer of 45% is very generous."

And you might want to 1337 up the original name and email address a bit to confound google searches.

I don't see any need to negotiate percentages. It looks like you get to keep both your 20% and his own 80%! You may well have some difficulties transferring that money from the US to the United State, though. It's a shame, because it's so easy to transfer from Nigeria to the US.
