I don't usually make these sorts of posts over people whom I've never met and have no direction connection to, but David Foster Wallace was perhaps my favorite author and he tragically hanged himself a couple of days ago.

I've read everything he's written (some things several times) and I am upset I won't have any more to read.

Harper's Magazine is putting up a free archive of all the essays he wrote for it over the years.

thanks for the post.... i feel the same way -- especially some of his personal essays which indicate a personality type far too similar to my own. And I have read IJ many times, plus any number of his lesser works.

I met him once, through another author I know distantly, and i have to say it had a major impact on me.
