When I was 26 I had already been married for four years and we had our first child on the way. We just celebrated our 16th anniversary a few days ago.

I was 38 when my wife and I got married, my first (and last) her 2nd. she lost her first in a traffic accident. They were married about 20 years when it happened.

Congratulations.

Not going to relate how many years happily married here (and no cracks about the unhappily ones, please), but lots; glad I did it and would do it all over again.

She has this amazing.........................grin. Very Happy

And she seemed to like the way I took the p*ss out of her friend.

If you're both half as happy as I've been, then you'll be doing alright. Cool

I some how forgot to wish Rover congratulations on his upcoming nuptials. I don't have a lot of advice to offer that hasn't already been given.

Is there a new tatoo in store for the misses? Tatooing rings on fingers?

Lucky you, I'm quite literally sick with nerves, and it's only in eight days. I have been panicking over truly minor details (ribbons, hairpins). I don't even like hairpins usually, except poking people with them Razz

Just to warn you, expect a bit of, erm, mild dementedness to set in shortly before the big day. I had a nightmare about pull bows. Pull bows!

Ive just returned from a shopping mall grand tour, my legs are aching big time ! Apparently, it was all essential items that we quite simply NEED - things like new boots, a handbag, a jumper, a magazine, an unbrella, and some lip gloss. Confused

I did manage to slip away for a good 20 minutes and down a very quick beer by pretending I had left my phone in the car tho.

Its those little victories that I live for now Very Happy

Dang, I'm sorry I'm late, I really need to wander into this forum a little more often!

Belated congratulations to Smartbomb and Rover! I wish you and yours well!

I've been married before, and the only advice I have is to not take your marriage for granted. Mine ended due to some other issues (her abuse of prescription drugs was a contributing factor) and sometimes I blame myself for not seeing the end come.....although it probably would have ended anyway.

I was asked for my hand when I was 18 but thought I would wait for a better offer.....little did I know it would be my only offer. So here I am turning 55 in November single, sassy and sexy. Maybe I could marry a rich lad who would die in a car accident leaving me millions in an account that I can't access. Wink

Apparently I got a little too drunk this past week. Waking up to one of THESE is a bit uncomfortable. I don't remember shit, but there were no charges made to Vegas casinos for this time period, so I've got that going for me.

Just found out my brother in law is going to re marry.
(His wife did last June. )
His intended has been married at least twice before.
They're diffrent religions ( but both Christian )
This makes it difficult for a church wedding and they dont have the patience to sit through all the "marriage classes"

So they're going to elope!

Given they're both over 40 and like their comfort I cant see this being a rope ladder out the bedroom window walking into the sunset together idea.
