My wife showed me an item she got in the mail yesterday. Seems she won the UK/Canada Lottery. They had enclosed a $2100 check for the "processing fees" for her to cash and send back to them. She didn't even ask me about it, just handed me the check and told me "here's another trophy for you". A few years ago, when I first started hanging out around this site, she would have danced for joy and been dreaming of all the million$ she had won. Nice to know that it does sink in sometimes about what we're doing out here....  |

My friend's sister got much the same thing. She took it to the USPS, and they were very glad to have what she gave them. (Not much, of course, as there was only the one envelope, but they hope more people will come through with their envelopes.)
She said that one clue to her was the absolute boredom in the tone of the man she talked to. She expected that a winner would be greeted with joy and excitement, like they show on TV. |

For those of us who didn't have a RL, this is a godsend.
I'm genetically programmed to be an educator. All of my siblings are either teachers, pastors, or corporate trainers, and it's filtering down into the next generation as well. So, as I began learning about 419 and other scams, I just had to tell everyone about them.
If my friends and family get scammed, it's not because I didn't warn them.  |
