Has anybody else noticed the weather is warmer than usual this summer. Its so dam hot in Ireland at the moment Sad

The East coast of the US is boiling hot right now, and has been for the past week or more. I'm in the central part of the East coast and we have been in the upper 90's the whole time. My outdoor thermometer registered over 100 degrees several of those days. Our "normal" high is in the low 80's.

Jojo--yes, my part of the globe always does tend to get warmer this time of year. Laughing

As far as the other is concerned, it is always humid around here this time of year. I lived in southern Florida for a number of years, which was just awful from about this time of year through the month of September, and sometimes well into the fall.

Today, it is a bit cooler, as we just had a front move through with all of the storms we've been getting hammered with lately. Right now, it is sunny and a balmy, pleasant 73 degrees F (or about 23 degrees C). Smile

My part of Scotland has been warmer than usual and no rain the last couple of days, with a brisk breeze.
BUT the grass is covered in leaves almost like autumn!

Not humid at all but hubby and elder son are heading to Tokyo mid August. I believe it gets a tad humid there then.

Harry, I made a very simple statement that was in no way related to politics. It was a very neutral statement. However, I would like to point out the following fact...

In my city, in January, the average high temperature was 63. This month, the average high is at 91. That is an average of 5.6 degrees increase EVERY month. SO, by my calculations, this time NEXT June, the average high temperature will be 158.2. I don't think I can handle it.

Saying Global warming exists is a statement of fact based on global average temperatures, not politics.

It only becomes politics when politicians, or those with a special interest axe to grind hijack the topic for their own ends.

Fortunately I live less than a mile from the beach in Florida. That seabreeze keeps it cooler than it would be further inland.

My hybrid Bermuda lawn once went dormant for two months out of the year. I would over seed with winter rye. After a while, it was just a month. For the last several years, it has not gone dormant at all. I have a cherry tree that needs a certain number of hours at temperatures below 45 degrees every winter for it to fruit. We used to enjoy cherries off our own tree. No more. I went on a 75 mile ride yesterday and took about an hour longer than usual. We made too many stops for water. The saddest thing is that I lugged a DSLR and a zoom lens only to discover that the birds I saw last week have continued their migration to cooler areas. June has become the new July. The same person that was paid tens of thousands of dollars to come up with global climate change to replace global warming was paid for the phrase axis of evil.

We have actually been cooling over the last few years, due mainly to ocean currents. Yes, there has been a warming trend ever since the Little Ice Age during the Middle Ages, but the cause of this is the current debate. If it is man-made or part of the natural cycle of weather. I'm in southern New England and it's 97° here today (humidity makes it feel as 99° according to my yahoo widget). Got in the car on Sunday and the build in thermostat stated 108°, first time I've ever seen it that high.

Be prepared, at the rate that I showed so scientifically in my earlier post, in 12 months we will be facing 160 degree temperatures!!!! That is not going to be fun at all.

Actually though, our weather, up until about 2 weeks ago, has been really mild. Usually, early April starts getting really warm and by mid April, it just plain sucks.

Well, by Jojo's incredibly scientific approach, it will be far hotter here than Florida soon. Just 6 months ago, it was about zero here. Now, it is 80. That means that just one year from now, it will be 320 degrees. That is hot enough to send lads to.

A high expected in the mid to upper 80's (~30C for the celsius crowd), blue skies with a slightly higher than normal breeze. I love California (neener, neener, neener) Very Happy

Except for the $4.50 per gallon gas prices. Sad
