I mean, what kind of person laughs at the fact that there is a lad just outside of Darfur, hungry, kidnapped, etc. We are really trying to send him the money. WU just keeps "blocking" it.

You are correct. I mean, if I had a trained baiter I don't think I could get anymore accurate on what to tell the boys. So, the next time any of you are in Ndjamena or Abeche, stop by the local WU and tell the workers thanks for not spilling the beans. The fact that they are playing along or whatever they are doing has added so much credibility.

I'm thinking about going to Ab�ch� for Christmas, to meet those guys. If they go on like this they will surely hibernate there. Where else would they want to go, since it's such a nice place. I'm so curious to see the ONLY CYBER CAFE ALONG HOSPITAL ROAD.

I am wondering why these great missionaries are unable to convert this driver. He obviously has anger issues and needs TW@T in his life, as we all do.

The driver may have the hand of doom, but I too would be mightily pissed off if I'd carted 2 stinky lads 320 k's on the goodwill of being paid later...technically isn't he an ITP caught up in someone else's nightmare?

Excellent nightmare, by the way - I wonder (if he ever makes it back to Lagos alive) if he'll learn a lesson about greed and crime not paying, or start scamming again? I wonder if he'll ever leave his home cyber caf� ever again after this, let alone safari!

Actually, it's 650 Km from N'Djamena to Abeche. The 320 Km would have been if the driver had carried him midway to Abeche, which is the town Khach Khach we were originally trying to inch him towards. We eventually abandoned that idea and had him go the full distance at one shot, once we saw how entirely screwed he was.

You evil bastards have no sympathy. I have been sitting here reading this aweful mess since midnight and I have yet to see any sign of compassion. Just think of me, I have been laughing so hard, I started coughing. Coughing and laughing made me very dizzy, and I have literaly seen points of light dancing before my eyes, that's how hard I've been laughing. Could you have made this safari less fun?

The one regret about this episode is that they don't practice slavery anymore in Chad, because that could be one way for the driver to get his payment out of these two Twats.

I was thinking about the boys this weekend, being that they can't check their mail and I didn't really feel like calling them. I was wondering what they could possibly be doing to occupy themselves during that entire two days of silence from our end. I have a very distinct feeling that if this driver is threatening their lives for his payment, he has them on a VERY short leash. I kinda see them doing all sorts of his chores around the shack. You know, sweeping the dirt floor (job security), brushing the camel, and maybe plucking the feathers off of the chickens they will not be able to eat.

Idle hands being the devil's workshop and all.

ITP's are a problem in any safari. However, I believe the driver will extract whatever he needs to to feel compensated. Our lads necks, for example... may be in peril.

Any lad on safari, strounded, fraudstrated, is going to be a burden on someone else, however, are we proposing no more safaris? Every safari bound lad who ends up broke will, in fact, need help, and will most likely find it. Some of those people will expect to be paid ("Theres $320,000 waiting in Darfur, so just take us there and we pay on arrival"), and others will help out of kindness.

Lets hope these guys end up buried up to their necks in sand.
