Lotto lads seem to be looked on as either too boring to bother with or too eager to drop a baiter.
I disagree.
I think there should be more straight-baiting of lotto lads, to show that they are just as easy to bait for a long time as any other lad but also because they are another source of fun! The claiming of a lottery prize comes with its own modalities, and if baiters stay away from lotto lads because of the myth of their eager-to-drop natures, then they're missing out on another source of entertainment.
So, as ever, I'm going to try to encourage more people to straight-bait lotto lads in a round-about "See, it's easy, really!" way. I've compiled a small league table based on the length of lotto baits that have been published here in the past year. Some published baits don't include the dates so I couldn't work out how long they lasted; I wanted to include them but couldn't despite their looking like they would easily qualify.
The numbers are weeks. Basically, the number of days in total, divided by 7, rounded up.

If I've missed anyone's lotto bait out or if you know of a published lotto bait that deserves a mention, then PM me and I'll put it in.
And yes, I am over-represented at the moment because I can remember my lotto baits whereas other people's I had to find through some basic searching.
[This post was inspired by AgentOrange's excellent lotto bait---proof that even first-timers can play the lotto game and win.] |

Interesting idea Otter. And yes, a creative baiter should be able to get even lotto lads to bend to his/her will.

I disagree. |
I agree.
How many people on this forum discard an email simply because it's your usual dead cocoa merchant ... blah blah blah. And it perceived as boring... Guilty as charged. Thus they go under the radar. These are the ones that deserve special attention.
Lotto lads are similar. They are notoriously difficult to pin down. But that shouldn't stop us from giving them the attention they rightly deserve. |

My favorite lad, Ray King, also runs lotto scams. If you've seen any of my bait of him, you know he can be fun. (I can provide an intro script if anyone wants it).
I baited a regular old lotto lad last summer, but never published the bait. After reading this intriguing post by Otterfan, went to check the stats.
It lasted 4 weeks (May 29-June30) I wonder if it would have lasted longer if I hadn't been a brand new baiter. This might inspire me to try a lotto lad now that I'm more seasoned.
We exchanged 70 emails (counting both of ours), he left me 3 voicemails and he logged into 1TV5 20 times. |

I agree too Otterfan. I am currently working on a lotto lad. For some reason I think of them as more of a challenge because of what I read here when I first joined. But the truth be known, there are some easily baitable ( is that a word?) lotto lads out there. |

So I guess I am doing really well with my first bait. I've had my lotto lad going for 3 weeks now. I'm currently deep sea fishing this weekend and am going to drop by the WU on the way home. Not sure if I should have an accident out there or at the WU office(manager talk to me, mess up the transfer, etc)... |

Definitely, CO. When it finishes, publish it, and I'll add it to the list. With any luck, though, that won't be for another few months! |
