Hi, I am a total newbie. If I screw up something as far as images, please forgive. Long story, short. I joined a dating site interkontakt.net. Met some legits and I have met so not so legit. One of the latter is Jennifer Ancheta. She sent me these photos.

I do not know whose photos these actually are, but very attractive. I chatted with "Jennifer" several times, seemed very nice but was unemployed, did not have a phone, but had high speed internet at home. (hmmmmm....)

I received this e-mail from her/him.

I was amazed with the eloquence from someone who a bad speller in every chat I had with him/her. Quick search on the internet and found this is a free "love letter" on several sites.

Decided that I "had to see her" and requested a webcam chat with him/her. "Jennifer" agreed. This was Jennifer on "her" webcam:

hmmmm...s/he kind of looked a little different. Maybe s/he was having a bad day?

Decided to check her e-mail at myspace http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=138726023
and friendster (NSFW) http://profiles.friendster.com/33576212 .

The guy with the gun looks king of scary. Anyway "Jennifer" has been asking me to send him/her a webcam for her/his birthday and is now just asking for money to buy a webcam because it will be easier for me than shipping the big cam.

I am an accidental scambaiter and frankly do not know what else I can do. S/he does not have too much personal info on me, only my gmail account name, my first name, and my location (currently overseas and not in the same country as him/her). I do not know if anyone wants to bait this one, but I do have his e-mail and home address.

^^^ Welcome aboard,

even though you say she knows very little about you I would still suggest ending all contact and starting fresh from a new IP stripping email (G mail is fine) and make absolutely everything about you a lie except that you are male, then have some fun.

The problem I can see for you is that she knows your dating site ID that she may be able to use to get to you using a different name and then finding out about you from a different addy.

Scammers are generally easy to get on the hook so dont be too concerned about giving up on her for the moment.

Take a look arround here, read some of the other posts and emails for some ideas and when you are ready send her a short email from your new address, "Hi sorry I have not replied, if you are still interested please respond to my email" then start fresh.

If you have a question type a keyword into the search button above and read up, if you cant find what you are after then ask away.

Before you know it you will be having a great time at the expense of these scammers.

Be warned however that this is very addictive and once you have had a good taste you will not be able to leave.

Sign up for a mentor if you want to stick around who will get you started and teach you some of the finer points about baiting,

while you are waiting, read, read and read some more, this is one of those sports where even the most experienced keep learning.

EDIT:
I just had a look at the links and a little advice to make for happy mods,

If your link will take you somewhere that has pictures that could cause problems for somebody viewing from work then write clearly NSFW 'not safe for work', while there are few if any of us here that would be offended by the pictures, some people could be in trouble for having a picture of a girl with hooters out on the computer screen at work, if you go back to your post you can edit to add NSFW before the link.

The other comment about your scammers pictures is it is unusual for a girl who is looking for a man to use photos of her with another man

I do have to say allthough I tend to agree that it is most likely 2 different girls in the photos, I would not be betting my ............

lets just say I wouldn't be betting on it, both girls do look very much alike and while I think I am probably wrong some make up, a hair style and a few years could be the difference between them

Created two different aliases and while some of Jen's stories stay the same, other things change for example birthday day and address has changed. The great thing is creating an alias that is the total opposite of me. It is fun to be a total jerk once in awhile.

I will say Jen seems small time, she is asking for $50 for the most part from the aliases. I am sure that if something was sent to her, more cash would be asked for.

Does anyone have any suggestions as far as where to get stock photos? She wants to see one of my aliases and while tempted to put a photo of Brad Pitt up there, I think that would be a giveaway.

As far as her photos, having video chat with her, I can honestly say that they are not same the person. I was questioning the actual gender after the first webcam chat -- her/his hands looked bigger than mine and s/he had a decent sized adam's apple. I will give "Jen" props for at least using photos that look somewhat similar to herself.

try and find some c grade actor, someone hardly known somewhat plain. At least you should be able to offer a range of pics over time.

Ok, the most recent thing I have heard from "Jen" is s/he wants $100 for her birthday party on September 5. She told one of my aliases that her birth is on September 10. Anyway, she wants it sent Western Union. Anyone know anything to help in this situation? I am trying to waste as much time as possible for him/her.

You have many options here.
lots of delays

the office was shut,
I got there too late.
the place burned down
send a 9 digit mctn , oops I missed a digit, send the 10th digit later just don't say where it goes
change to moneygram and repeat.

try and get a bank account (if you do let some here know)
look around the forums for the blured western union form to send.

When you are totally fed up with this vlad send them to scrooge Mcducks website.
There is a baiter starter kit somewhere here.
If you read all the stickies you should find most of what you need.

This is a filipina.
They kind of cross lines between begging, scamming...and sometimes porn cam girl.

You'll have to be careful to provide evidence she's lying.
It's not really scamming to 'beg'.

That is the problem with the pinay scam/cam/beggars.

You can catch her in lies about what she needs money for....'I need money for nursing school', 'I need money for my mother's operation'
etc

(but she said she was in school to be a teacher, and her mom died.....in another chat...get the drift?)

They're kind of fun, but hard to work.

If she's begging for money, or strong hints....it's not really a scam.

If she LIES about the reasons needing the money....

"My father needs an operation!!" (he was dead last chat)

Strangely, 'begging' on chat seems to be a part time job a lot of people in the phils have. I've seen mom and daughter teams, aunt and niece, etc.

Sometimes you'll see an adult barely off cam coaching the younger person.

It makes me sick....but you have to be careful to prove it's a scam.

I understand what you are saying. I chatted with her under an alias and she had the same sob story along with different stories and different dates as far as birthday and a different location. She is fair game as far as I am concerned.

Yeah, there are those with a real need...money for kids operation, lots of stories out there that are 100% real and worthy...but, do those people generally use dating websites to plead their case?

When looking for the regular advance fee scams I put my addy on two guest books. In a month I have several hundred letters. Some look real. Some are a joke. But, the fact is, NOBODY is going to write that mail box that didn't take it off the guest book. It's the only place in the world it appears.

So, I ask, would somebody with a real need be trawling the date sites?

You must learn to realise that the likelyhood of finding a legitimate person begging on the internet or asking for money for visas, sick grandmothers, help with boxes full of cash, help to get out of the refugee camp that amazingly has internet access and so on is virtually zero.

Treat all of your internet lovers as a scammer until they can prove otherwise, when creating a profile have no information or write that you are ugly short and fat with a severe flatulance problem and an uncontrolled desire to pull the blankets over the head of anyone who gets near. Real people will keep clear and the scammers wont care.

I recall someone else here setting up a profile for her dog, didn't take long for the dog to get hit on either
