I'm new ï¿½ not sure what this scammer is up to or what to do

I have read the stickies, signed up for a mentor, using gmail, and think I'm baiting safe.

I am baiting an eBay scammer who is selling an item from a hijacked account. The item has been removed by eBay but of course the scammer says he ended it early because another deal fell through.

We have exchanged 11 emails and are at the point of him issuing me an invoice. The original price was $2,900 but I accidentally misread the price as $29,000 and offered $25,000 (the item is worth more). He went for it and I know I have him hooked. I'm hoping the invoice is html or a word or something where I can look at the authoring tool or maybe the author's name.

I'm fairly new to this aswell so i dont know what advice i can offer.

What did spring to mind though was that he wants you to use your ISP provided email address.... why i dont know but thats what im thinking

I love to see that the Lads are getting paranoid!! Makes for better sport and probably causes them to lose victims because of their behavior!!

Tell him that G-mail works fine for you and you haven't had any previous problems.

He should be the one changing accounts since the problem is obviously at his end.

Then go ahead for any future *jpg attachments - make sure you use renamed dll files. Twisted Evil

And when he sends large attachments, have him send them repeatedly as it may turn out that Gmail does have problems with transmitting files. Not that you will admit that.

Thank you all for the replies above.

He simply would not send the invoice to my gmail account so I set up a bigstring account. Finally got the fake invoice in my new account. This invoice has specific instructions for MoneyGram payment to an address in Romania. It contains links to email addresses and a link to a fake warehouse website listing many other fake items for sale.

May be someone knows how to research these and possibly get the fake site shut down.

I am wondering if I can forward this invoice to a moderator for analysis?

You can post the site details in the fake banks and web sites forum, the invoice in the pictures forum. the fake banks team will be able to tell you how hookey the site is.
