Interesting post fashmo.
I also make money gambling by doing something called 'matched betting', a clever way of extracting the free bet bonus from bookies without risking any money. (I also arb a bit, but that's not as easy for me.)
I've been doing it since October and made about �550  . It can take a while to grasp the concept, especially if you've never gambled before. I was convinced it was rubbish until the idea of free cash overcame my trepidation/cynicism and I started to read about it.
