My daughter, the jewel in my life, Aggrav8, has been dating a very nice, respectful, young man for about a year now. He treats her great, he's an athlete, he gets fine grades, and is already getting contacted by universities to play basketball for them. The fact that he's 1/2 black - 1/2 white had never been an issue with her, me, the hellbeast, or any of her aunts, uncles, or friends. The hellbeast called me last night to inform me that Aggrav8 was crying because, as she was walking past a group of guys in the mall yesterday, one of them said "There goes the %^&*%$(N-word)lover". In reprob8 fashion, she approached him and said "grow up, loser" at which point he dumped a coke on her new top. She went home and told the hellbeast the story. She knew the kid's name so I looked up his phone number from the school directory and called his parents and said their kid needed to cough up 40 bucks for the top he ruined, and apologize to my daughter, and I would be over to their house after work tonight with aggrav8 to make sure it happens nicely. The dad asked if I was threatening his kid, I said no, but "you raised the mouthy little bastard, I want to make sure you don't offer anything offensive." He hung up. The hellbeast called me later and said the kid and his parents drove to her house, the kid said he was sorry and gave her the cash for the shirt. I'm still pissed, aggrav8 is disillusioned, and I'm not even going to get the opportunity to give the kid and his dad the death stare.

Racism blows, it really does.

Seriously though, that sucks, and its a sad state where the parents of the punk kid in question are only interested in if you were threatening their little angel... If someone had phoned my house and told my parents I'd done something like that, I'd have been beaten live via telephone for your amusement...

What TS said. That kid probably didn't learn much of a lesson either. Good job, Repob8, all the way round, but particularly for raising Aggrav8 so that she doesn't take that kind of crap from anybody.

One would hope that the parent had a lengthy talk with the kid who started this. The kid was probably just showing off for his friends, but what a stupid stupid thing to do. I hope he's seen the error of his ways.

Yeah, good on you and your daughter for standing up to them. 9 times out of 10 behind any racist kid is a racist parent so you were right to question the way they raised him.

At first I thought, "great, another parent that just blindly sticks up for their little johnny. my johnny would never do that..." but then I realized he was probably doing it because he has the same racist feelings. That's where these kids get it from and it's sad to see them brainwashed by moronic parents. Congratulations to your daughter to not just sit idly by. Thumbs up

Odd, you need to pass a test for a license to drive a car, but not to have a child. Maybe we should rethink that...

Unfortunately and sadly, there will always be idiotic and small minded people in the world. They take out their insecurities and shortcomings on others. It saddens me and breaks my heart to know others are subjected to such behavior. I applaud and admire your daughter for her courage to stand up to that moron. You should be very proud.

Obviously both dad and son were too chickenshit to meet with you face to face. It's probably better that they didn't -chickenshit assholes usually get mouthy because they can do little else- and while kicking the crap out of someone that deperately deserves it can be enjoyable, it would not be a good situation for you or Aggrav8 in the long run. Although you're still pissed, you'll get over it. Racist dad and son will have to live with being "chickenshit" the rest of their lives.

I hate racism. Things like this really really piss me off. This asshole and his parents are extremely lucky he was not charged with a hate crime.
Sadly racism is still out there. Growing up I remember not being served in a restaurant at Disneyland. After a few hours of lies and excuses by the employees, we figured it out.

Racism has always pissed me off but when I was just a kid I would just do chicken sh*t stuff as a psychobabble mechanism to placate myself. When I worked as a chemist in a refinery I asked the redneck supervisors to cut out the crap. It was not directed towards me but still made me very angry. After two warnings I ended up making myself the masked avenger. Every time someone would make a racist statement, they would suffer. I would empty dry chemical fire extinguishers into lockers and piss into hard hats. Do people suddenly get stupid when they put on a crash hat? Its amazing how many times my boss would find his crash hat in a freezer and just put the thing on and walk out into the plant. He knew that stuff would drip on his head and back and he never worried about it. I put shaving cream and honey on his phone earpiece and would call him up. Even though I hated him, it was hard not to laugh as I said "Squish". I'll save the fiberglass in his underwear and silver nitrate on his hat band stories for another thread.

When I see it now, I go right at it.
I've filed criminal charges against a VP where I work. He was given freeway therapy. That's where a person is transfered to another location with their commute in mind. For the last 12 years, he's had a two hour one way commute and has been locked in his position. As collateral damage I had charges filed on my present boss. He's a clever fellow and with the help of his lawyer very quickly saw the error of his ways.

It's 2007 and sadly this crap still goes on and is tolerated. I see it everywhere and report it when I do. Its even more pathetic when responsible people should do something with the report, look the other way and allow the situation to continue. Home Depot management stills allows racism and since their customer service lines are located where a Caste System is part of the culture they cannot see the problem. I found that if you report racism they will offer you a $15 gift certificate.

To go off of what Connie said, Aggrav8 could have probably had the creap charged with assault for the doke dumping incident AND racially motivated hate activities.

I am dismayed at the event though not shocked. I think Reprob8 handled the situation well but sadly there will be no insight in the racist household. They will just be more careful and not so "in your face" the next time they do it.

The good side of this story is that you can be a very proud parent. Unfortunately, racism will always be around. But racism will have a better chance if good people do nothing. It takes courage to stand up to it and your daughter has shown that courage. I would like to applaud Aggrav8:

Seems to me the 'issue' for which the parents/kid apologised was the fact their son ruined Aggrav8's top, not the fact he's a racist and they raised him that way Mad
