I use StumbleUpon a lot, and today during one of my button-clicking sessions, I came upon a site called ufocasebook.com
I was under the assumption that this was a "serious" UFO site; that was until I read further and found myself on this page:
http://www.ufocasebook.com/unmannedprobeanalysis.html
Can these people seriously believe these images are real? Am I being baited?! Most of the images scream FAKE to me. |

It is just a trick by the US government to make you think that ufo pictures are too fake to believe, so you don't believe that the ufos are real. Dis-information plot. Don't fall for it.
The internet and iPods are really alien technology, you know. I think Starbucks is run by aliens as well. They put something in the coffee to make you buy M$ vista. |

A reasonable Photoshopping effort IMHO - certainly better than what the lads produce for the HOS. I think most visitors to that site really "want to believe" so it's not like they're going to be overly critical.
Shiver, I was wondering how you were planning to work this into a bait? Last time I checked WU didn't have too many interstellar branches operating (yet). |

Believe me, I wasn't searching for non-existent (extra-terrestrial) UFOs! I found it during a brief stumbling session. If no one is familiar with it, I thoroughly recommend the StumbleUpon toolbar - http://www.stumbleupon.com/ |

@coronalight: those are absolutely brilliant photo's! My wife bought a canon 350 digital last year, and we are still fumbling with the manual, trying to get decent picutres. I know how much effort goes into it now, makes appreciate good pictures even more!

Well from my other Hobby I have to say that this is quite a nice piece of Scalemodelling. Nicely photographed with good lighting and some good Photoshopping.
@Corona light. Those are indeed wonderfull pictures. In my own company I do a lot of Photography and always enjoy seeing other peoples work. |

The middle bit looks like it might be the rim of a washing machine or tumble dryer drum, looks like a model.
Could have done with a bit more greebling though. |

People will believe what they want to believe. Some will believe those photos are real, others won't. As for the subject, it's an interesting one. I'm still baffled as to *what* is so top-secret about 1940's weather balloon technology that it has to remain classified today. |

It was much, much easier to let people believe stuff going in a military research facility is "t3h s3kr1t UFO" technology than actual work. You cannot buy a cover-story like that!
After all of these years, the UFO-fanatics have not found ONE single verifiable account.

You know Shiver, the way I look at it is, it is similar to these 419 letters. People want so hard to believe in something that they will overlook the signs that it is fake or not real. Then after they are so far into it, they don't want to admit they have been taken for a ride. |

In my photography class I had a Corona bottle flying at the Efile tower. It looked very real - it was just placing another image over another picture in the dark room you can even have the "limbs" behind it by re burning the other original picture of it to make the limbs a bit darker.
Thats how the "trick" photograph was done before photoshop..
But to me that looks like a bad burn in of a ceiling fan! |

@Doctor X - True. But, I'd still like to know what is still so secret about a weather balloon that it's still top secret. Hell, I can walk up and touch a F117 fighter, which was developed long after 1947. Also, don't we have satellites for weather and detection of missile launches. I'd hope we've come past the "weather balloon" technology with our military capabilities. However, we must not have. All I'm saying is that it must have been one hell of "balloon". |

You can't be serious, TFI, can you? Project Mogul? It's not longer secret. We use satellites now, not weather balloons.
I don't think it was an alien craft that "crashed" in Roswell, but I also think that the weather balloon story is complete bunk. |

Why do people always equate "UFO" with "aliens"?
Although I didn't know it at the time, a couple of days ago the kid next door was playing with paper airplanes. One flew by my window. I only caught a glimpse of it and wondered what it was. I went outside to see. voil, it was a paper airplane.
Between the time it flew past my window and the moment I picked it up, it was a bona fide UFO, i.e. it was an object that was unidentified and flying.
I didn't suspect any involvement of aliens. |

Good point KD. I believe in UFOs, however only the terrestrial variety. The others, well..... don't get me started |
