Big news in my little village today is that 40 yards away from my back yard, a man was murdered in his home last night 
Probably run-of-the-mill stuff for some of our US cousins, but in a village like mine that's like like Elvis returning from the dead and cutting off Priscilla's head! |

Seriously though, the majority of murders are committed by somebody closely related to, or know, the victim. Unless they live in Midsomer that is.
My sister lived just doors away from where one of The Yorkshire Ripper's last victims was found murdered in Bradford. Pretty scary stuff. My sister would have killed him!  |

Apparently it's not murder after all. "A 42 year old man was arrested on suspicion of terrorism related offences."

we had 3 murders last year in my city.. kinda scary living in a small city and having murders happening near by, but I don't let it bother me. |

Getting busy here. TV cameras have arrived. My son apparently was there whilst the BBC where filming, so look for a nondescript oik in sportswear and a baseball cap on the 10pm bulletin! Apparently a reporter told him to lean against a lamppost. I'll see if I can get a screencap. |

I saw this from the other side a couple of days ago. One of the parcels was delivered just down the road from me (Glasgow). Alas, I had shrugged my shoulders and thought "It must be another murder" 'till I found out what it was.

Here are a few snaps I took ealier today with the camera I keep in my car (motto: be prepared!). This was about 2 hours before it all kicked off big time.
They've now broken into the guy's flat next door and are also digging around in the back yard. |

This was Mr & Mrs Shiver coming back from India last Friday. We went with my best friend and his wife, and as a special treat we hired a limo to take us to and from the airport. More pics of us lording it up inside when I get the essay uploaded shortly (2,000 images to sort through).

Shiver, The council built a Cul-de-sac near me that looks a bit like the place where 'those people' live. The people that moved in take great pleasure in referring to it as just that, thinking it's dead posh.
From memory I think Cul-de-sac translates into 'bottom of the sack' or something similar.

Things have calmed down a bit now. Just a single police car and two policemen guarding the door. Apparently the police are now searching for a second man involved.
