Well, this is my first foray into the world of scambaiting. Since I'm so new to this, I've decided not to go so far as to send him fake documents or fake bank account numbers, but my goal is to get him to send a picture of himself holding a sign (the wording will be of my choosing). After that, I will blow him off....or send him a fun reply.

This guy is a real scumbag. He's using the deaths of actual people to get me to sympathize (as if the liver-damaged wife wasn't enough). Also, he's hoping I'm just as big a scumbag as he is, read and see:

Welcome to Eater and my suggestion is to follow the advice in the other thread you started. Take it SLOW. #1 newbie mistake is to go rushing into a bait, often using very complicated or 'advanced' modalities before you have learned the basics. Read the Stickies and FAQ's which contain a lot of information you need and a lot more you didn't even know you needed. Use a safe email address (gmail, hushmail, fastmail) and play it straight to begin with. The chances of you getting a picture of your mugu doing something stupid at this stage are approximately zero. It can take weeks or months of patient, subtle, careful baiting to get them to that stage and the pics you see in our Trophies cabinet are the result of that persistant work. I learned most (and am still learning) from reading ongiong or completed baits so read through the forum. I still learn something new every day.
