Just an added note here. Ruhija is 35km away from Kabale if you were to travel in a perfectly straight line. This road is far from straight from what I have read plus, it is quite hilly as it leads up towards the mountains.

Lets say 50km... each way in the middle of the night, through a jungle at high altitude, no shelter, probably little money, alone (don't forget he's double crossed Ingrid/Manga as well)....

Even more worrisome for john should be that he double-crossed bernard! ingrid is a long way away, but there's every chance that john could meet bernard soon. (This sounds like a soap opera, doesn't it?? Only thing missing is a love interest! Sad

@YW No answer?? Maybe he dropped the phone, got lost, attacked by gorillas, batteries ran down, had stopped to take a leak and forgot to pick the phone up again . . .

In any case, damn him if he simply disappears! That wouldn't be right!

I don't know. I tried 45 minutes after out first conversation and nothing. Later calls had the same result. It's close to 4am there now. Beats me what happened.

Right now, I am trying to get SoundEdit Pro configured to record my next call to Ingrid. The recordings I have tested can pick up my voice from the headset I wear but not incoming sound.

YW, i think it would be worth you to go out and buy a microphone that you can just plug into your audio input on the computer. that way you will be able to pick up the lad's voice coming out of your computer speakers. you can even play sounds from your computer and the lad will be able to hear them.

hearing this guy's voice will be priceless.

Well he's certainly burned all his bridges. If John's taken the rest of the money and his passport, I think Bernard's not going to be very mobile for some time.

I was thinking more along the lines that sooner or later he's going to need someone to get him back home, or even better - bail him out of jail or something....

Do you think there's any chance that somehow they've all twigged? Or that maybe Ingrid did which is why he stopped emailing you, and then he somehow contacted John who is now ignoring your calls? As you said earlier, though, at this stage it hardly matters because of the huge amount of time and money they have spent and the inconvenience you've caused them . . .

I must have just scared the crap out of Ingrid when Troy Mc Clure, an investigator from the United States, called him. I was able to record the call. The sound quality is not the best. I am just getting used to my new microphone and recording software.

Basically, Ingrid hung up on Mr. Mc Clure and then turned off his phone. What a pussy. Evil or Very Mad

I truly don't know how you can keep a straight voice/face when talking to these morons. I would crack up around "you may remember me from....." Ingrid will be sweating blood by now and as for those two dumb mofo's in Uganda......
