One sad aspect about outfits like this is that many of the low level employees aren't made aware that that the entire operation is bogus. They call people and take calls but are simply reading from a script. It makes sense as the fewer who know about the fraud the better. This happens a lot with tech support scams as the "1st level technicians" are sometimes just as computer un-savvy as the "clients". They just run a bunch of commands written in their little script book and hand the call over to a "more experienced" (ie true scammer) who takes the payment info an installs some freeware ad blocker for $500. It's one of many reasons Eater doesn't bother with this stuff. Some of the employees are truly ITP's, these are big outfits you don't want to mess with, and you can't get them to safari or take milk/honey baths because many actually get a legitimate paycheck for their time, and stunt goats are sadly taken out of the equation. Most are scum nonetheless but dumb greedy lads willing to hop on a bus and chase a nonexistent package for weeks on end while being sexually harassed by corrupt same sex fake delivery drivers is SO much more fun...and ther are SO much more willing to be baited!  |
