Hi, I'm new to the forum, though I have visited the site many times over the years when I have needed a good chuckle. I love what you guys are doing!

However, I am a bit concerned over your ads! I recognised one from the top of the forum page as one that is a pretty well known scam here in Sweden. The ad features a prominent celebrity from Sweden and a citation from him (fake) about an investment he has made. If you press the ad you are directed to a page that looks like one of the biggest online newspapers in Sweden. It is a fake web page however. The adress in the adressbar is not the same as the newspaper. On the page there is an article descibing a bitcoin investment that the celebrity has done and you are invited to invest in the same thing. All of this is fake. The celebrity in question Filip Hammar has actually gone out in media to say that he is in no way involved in this scam and it has been reported that a lot of people have lost money to the people behind it.

Isn't it ironic that the biggest scambaiting community accepts ads from obvious scammers, is funded by fraudulent companies people? Has anyone else noticed this?

Welcome. I get the irony, but I think you're wrong to suggest the community "accepts" the ads. From what I know of how the system works, the site will have no choice in the matter.

I have not noticed the adds you have mentioned. I do get served the same ads as I see on eater on other sites, so I guess they are served by Google or some other company....and not selected by Eater

You will need to give us a bit more info than that. Like the link that the advert was representing.

Our ads are done through Google and based on Symantec search and content matching (the adverts you see tell us more about you then they do about us) It is not a matter of us accepting ads from companies but rather Google sending the advert to you as it feels that is something you are interested in.

If you give us the link of the advert shown we can have it turned off, without that there is little we can do.

Hello everyone! I am completely new to this but have watched some YouTube videos on the subject for years. I just found out about this website and I'm very impressed! Unfortunately it appears the mentor program is not going on right now. I need to figure out how to get on scammer email lists so I can start generating emails my way.

Anyway, I'm going to poke around the forum.. there is a lot to read and take in.

For getting on scammer email lists, one method is to put your email on websites like Mugu Guestbook, although paranoid lads will be able to Google and find your email that way. A safer, although a bit slower, method is to respond to emails in the Surplus forum and wait for your address to be passed around. Eventually, as you respond to more and more emails over a longer period of time, you won't have any issues finding scammers to bait.

If you want to get started, take a look at our Surplus forum. It has plenty of scam emails posted for you to use. You can also find many on Scamwarners. I found this guestbook but have not used it myself (but it seems active, so give it a go perhaps?)

Also, please consider signing up for a mentor (see my signature). It's THE best way to get started, bait safely, and learn from an experienced member.

Always use fake details (name, email) which can't be traced to your 'real life'!

Used to do a bit of scam-baiting here and there, but nothing as intricate as the stuff on here. Would love some advice on how to get more scammers to email a catcher email address.

I have been wasting a lot of Indian time over the past 30 months but was introduced to a very good baiter via YouTube whom I was delighted to meet earlier this summer.
I have been reading some of the baits and am amazed at the ingenuity of the baiters and the stupidity of the lads.
I am reading and learning a lot here and looking forwards to the next scam email I receive.
I will not hesitate to ask for help if I need to.
