He's lying. The passport process is handled online now via the Nigeria Immigration Portal. He does need a birth certificate and also that Local State document apparently and I have no idea what those cost. The passport itself is 20,000N which is about $60 US. That's for the more expensive 64 page booklet which is good for 10 years. The cheaper 32 page one is only good for 5. His "going to Abuja" is a nice story given that it is the Capitol but it is probably bogus unless that is where he was actually born and has to go there for his birth related docs. Not sure if those can be requested online or from a different State. My bet is that they can. Nigeria is a messed up place but they're the biggest economy in Africa with 100s of millions of people. All their immigration and naturalization services appear to be online these days.

Lads are obsessed with pretending that they don't know what a tourist visa is and always ask for that stupid sponsorship letter. I think a lot of places require proof of financial viability for tourist visas. Not your problem though. Besides, I'm sure that he knows how to make a fake bank statement. He is a lad afterall. Could not Cammy have drawn out the bait by using an insurance modality before suing the delivery company? Or maybe that will come later.

It seems to me the first thing the insurance company would need is proof it's not being defrauded, so evidence that the hoodlum is not in fact the lad. Evidence such as (but not limited to):
1. a passport stamp to show the lad crossed the international border,
2. photographs of the injuries sustained in the attack,
3. the crime number when he reported the attack to the police,
4. hospital records of his treatment for attack injuries.

None of which he'll have, of course, because none of it happened. I reckon he won't come out of an insurance investigation smelling of roses.
