Let me know what you want Jen to do, since Sven seems to like/trust her. I'm happy to push him in any direction you want! Jen will be at Pinewood all week filming a small part in a movie. She can come back to Liverpool this weekend to hang with Anna, or head back to the States. Just let me know how Jen can be of service. Twisted Evil

I'd love to start "encouraging" him to take up acting again as a way to make the money he needs to come to Anna in England. As an actor, Jen can reassure him that you have to do a fair amount of work before you get paid. It's totally normal to do 20 or more auditions before you actually land a job. Then it can take weeks or even a few months before you actually get paid for the work. (In RL, I'm still waiting on 2 paychecks for work I did back in January!) Maybe through his trust in Jen, we can get him to start working with Hitlanta. Twisted Evil

Look at my eyes, lol, lol, ... YOU can tell I am very, very, sorry. OMG why? If he put half the effort into a real job or way of making income, (create one if none around), he would have enough money to do many things. I think what happens is there is a nearby success story of someone getting lots of money from foolish Americans, British, Australians and others; so, it is like winning the lottery, they have to just keep trying. (The real luck, in this case it won't ever happen). He will never have that shinny money. Perhaps the girl as a bonus.

It reminds me of the skeleton of the fisherman sitting by the lake. He is so persistent. He believes there is money on the other side of the ocean, and if he does it just right, it will be his. He can see that fish, that fish talks to him sometimes, and that fish has friends.

I keep thinking, there has to be a way to reform them, to show them that honest money is satisfying. However, I don't have any idea how. What you're doing here with the baiting has to be having an impact. They do say everything has a ripple effect. Its entertaining if nothing else. Good job.

I don't know if it's possible to reform scammers. I've read stories here about scammers that were screwed pretty bad, a lot worse than Sven and years later, they're still at it.

Hitlanta has a very good track record of producing happy lads. Sven would be a natural fit, although I would be surprised if he were extremely enthusiastic after his last stint in an acting company. I'm sure Darla can promise him that there will be no Tarzan screaming or singing in vans this time. Out of all of the things to get him annoyed, I'm surprised that was it. Maybe the safari lowered his morale a bit too. Who knows.

Meanwhile... Jen is trying to find Sven a job. She's even sending him links to Nigerian banking job sites. Kinda hard to get a job if you don't actually apply for them. It's like he just expects a job to fall into his lap without him lifting a finger. Jen is trying to be encouraging while also trying to temp him into giving acting a shot again. He's definitely still pissed about the whole Tarzan thing and doesn't want to submit any more "audition" videos unless he meets with the company. Laughing

I won't post the whole chat, but here are the bits about his last foray into acting. He's the very definition of "once burned, twice shy".

Jen: I know it can be frustrating, but you have to be persistent and keep at it. Acting is the same way. Your agent submits you for job after job, and you only get an audition maybe 5% of the time, and of those auditions, you may get a callback on 10%. Most actors only book 1% of the jobs they apply for.
I'm happy to talk with my agent if you are still interested in acting. They are always looking for diverse talent.

Jen: The whole entertainment industry is finally starting to shift away from us boring white people and give more jobs to people of color. It's a good thing.

Jen: Sometimes you have to do weird things for auditions. I once had to film myself pretending to be a duck, walking around a public park! So embarrassing!!! You would not believe the looks I got. lol. But, I got the job!
Most auditions are done via video these days, which is a good thing. Used to, we had to pay our own travel to the casting director's office. Cost a fortune, and we rarely landed the jobs. Now, it's quick and cheap - just send in a video. It's totally worth it. For example, I'm filing a VERY small part in a movie this week in England. We're filming for 3 days, and I am making $15,000 plus my travel expenses. So, the hard work (and weird audition videos) do pay off.

Jen: That's weird. I have been with my agent since I was 7 years old. They are wonderful! Even though they are based in the US, they represent actors and models all over the world. I know for certain that they rep several Nollywood actors.
Sven:Yeah. Not that I appreciate filming like that but I only love to sing.
Jen: Anna said you have a beautiful voice. My agents also represent singers and musicians. Everything from pop stars to rappers.

Jen: Yes, she does! I'm really envious of people who can sing. I can't carry a tune with a forklift! lol. It keeps me from getting some really good acting jobs. It really helps if actors can also sing.

- Maybe Anna went to her doctor and he found she is pregnant?
- Is it possible that something odd happened in Benin, when Anna was drugged and then she fell asleep without remembering anything?
- Perhaps Gerda and Joojoo were planning to turn Anna in a "surrogate-mother"? Maybe Joojoo raped Anna while she was drugged?

Will our dear Sven accept to grow a child that is not his own? The Joojoo's child?
Of course, Anna is a good Christian woman and she does not accept the cruel solution of an abortion. That baby will be born! Laughing

Ah, a child? A child with all that alcohol and sleeping pills as its start is sure to have some problems coming into the world.

Oh the complications.

I have noticed that he just skips over what would be real concerns to someone in love; the well being of that person. Lack of sleep, depression, and not eating.

It seems as if he just has to, (his main goal) get Anna back in love with him. A man has to be in control, after all. If she says she loves him, is that interpreted as some sort of control?

Or where he has fallen into I am in a bad mood. This is your fault, because you have not sent me money.

I think, you have to have lots of patience to run this sorta bait. I do believe it shines a light into the workings of some scams; and, I read how much money is still being sent to all sorts of scammers. So, maybe the solution rather than reform the scammers, because this isn't going to happen; is to educate the populous?

Anyway, the entertainment of it all is sometimes painful.

What's the purpose?

#1 Waste his resources. Some are good for multiple bank accounts that get shut down and it will hurt them because it took time to get people to trust them enough to have them use it for their scams and this can directly save real victims.
#2 Wasting the lad's time. If he's talking to me, he has less time for real victims
#3 Make them the village fool. Try to have them spend money they don't have and get them in trouble with loan sharks. They might feel a little bit of what they do to victims, but when they need to sell their phone / laptop / .... it's harder for them to scam.
#4 Our entertainment of course.
#5 An outlet. I can nag as much as I like to the ones that deserve it
