Hello to everyone!
I was on this forum and this site from 2006 to 2011 (old user name was Logar). Took some time off, but, something happened a few weeks ago and decided to take the plunge. I own a small on line business and out of the blue I received a message from someone in Africa.
HIM: WHY YOU NO SELL TO MY COUNTRY?
ME: I only sell to US and Canadian customers.
HIM: YOU ARE A RSIST LIAR TRUMP LOVER!

I'm brand new to scambaiting and have just gotten started. I've read up on terminology and have created a persona. I would like to know if there's anything more that I should Add.

Frank Smith is a hotel manager that was originally from Manchester, UK. He was a Labour party activist before moving to Amsterdam Netherlands where he lives on GrotelulStraat 27. (a totally phony street name)

My main concern is that I don't know how to properly create a fake bank account to fool scammers (lads?) Any suggestions?

Welcome to Eater! For a fake bank account, I suggest the following steps:

1. Make up a bank, with made-up SWIFT code and routing number. The SWIFT code is of the form nnnnccllbbb, where nnnn is often an abbreviation of the bank's name, cc is the country code, ll is two characters possibly indicating a locality, and bbb (optional, omission is equivalent to XXX) is the branch code. The routing number in the UK is six digits and is called the sort code; I don't know what it is in the Netherlands. The SWIFT code and routing number should correspond to no real bank.

2. Make up an account number. The format of this is country-dependent.

3. Enter the data in http://creativeeyes.at/tools/iban.php . Note that, for an account in the UK, the first four letters of the SWIFT code go before the sort code. This will give you a well-formed IBAN, but if the lad tries to send money to it (which he won't, unless he's hiring mules) it'll fail.

I didn't have lads ask me for my bank account often and if they did I just made something up. If they want to deliver money, mostly they say you'll receive an ATM card. Or you get the option of choosing between a bank transfer, trunk box or ATM card. I never choose the first.

Thank you. This should be helpful. The lad I'm currently baiting doesn't appear to be in any hurry to actually try to scam me. He just keeps going on about Whatsapp.

I'm American actually. I chose for my persona to live in Amsterdam because that's where my VPN says I am. If for some reason they check my IP address the location displayed will line up with where I say I am. I know they probably won't but I like being thorough.

You can click to see the profile and see when they have been online for the last time. I don't know when you've sent it, but I see it's been a while since firehouse was online. Also, when you click on messages on top of the page and you go to outbox, you see the messages that are still unread by the receiver. Go to sentbox and you see the messages that have been read.

Hello Eater crew. So I've only just recently discovered Scambaiting. I was angered watching a guy pretending to be an 80 year old woman(with a voice changer of course), getting scammed(he was baiting). The way the guy spoke to her(him), whilst thinking it was actually an old woman enraged me so bad. I have today stumbled across this fantastic website, and I am very eager to get involved.
