Grandparent Scammers!! SCUMMMM

These people are literally the scum of the universe. They are calling grandparents claiming to be the grand children and saying they had either an accident or have been in some kind of physical altercation and have broken their nose. Please refer to the following link... link removed -Padme

The have a fake case number and ask the elderly people they call to call a lawyer and eventually send $10k in the mail. Need to be stopped. Called service providers to try get their account shut down but they need to be attacked by every angle.

mbuzzboiiii Welcome to eater. I have removed the phone numbers as we do not allow posting of links or phone numbers without evidence of a scam. I was not able to check the website you sent as it does not allow visits from TOR or VPN's and paranoid Padme is not about to remove either in order to see it Wink

For future posting, please provide direct evidence (ie not a link to an external site, but a first-hand account, such as an email sent to you with headers, etc.). Please note that scammers who reach out first via phone are often using spoofed / hijacked phones of innocent third parties who have nothing to do with the scam so the numbers posted on many phone number listing sites may not be those of the actual scammers.

Embarrassed to admit it, but I was taken by exactly this kind of scam. One tends to suspend reality when you think it's your grandchild.

Best advice when you hear a plaintive voice on the phone at 2 AM saying "Grandpa?" Rather than saying, "Is this judy?"...use a false name and see if they respond. Obvious scam. If they say "this is your granddaughter," ask them which one as I have three....or ask how their mother (false name) is...or their pet...anything.
