I received an email on one of my accounts claiming to be apple ( Here is the email <[email protected]> ) Attached was a PDF
that said the following:
Policy Violation
Immediate action required : Your Apple ID need additional verification
Dear Client
We have recently detected that your Apple ID has been
having an issue with your billing account. We are unable to verify the billing information you provided. Your Apple ID has been suspended and a notification has
been sent to the Billing Account owner. Please work with
them to resolve the issue. We will delete your Apple ID unless the billing owner corrects
the violations by filling out the Account Verification Form within 24 hours.
This form verifies your identity and ownership of the
payment instrument. Failure to provide the requested documents may result in
permanent account closure, Click Account Verification Form to resolve the issue
Sincerely,
Apple
(BTW the spelling was so bad I had to correct it for the post, but they made it look official)
Then it linked to this website (URL may or may not work)
Link removed - OP
These scammers seem to be pretty advanced and are phishing for Apple ID's. Has anyone else seen this specific kind of Apple ID scam, and how do we combat this?
EDIT: The URL now redirects to the actual Apple ID page, not the fake one. |

Its phishing. We dont deal with that here. It isnt baitable.
If you opened a file or clicked a link be sure to scan your computer, change all passwords and pins, and monitor accounts for unusual activity. |
