Since 2018 has come to an end, the mods and admins would like to share some reflections on Eater during the past year.

Throughout 2018, there were roughly 2,100 newly registered accounts at Eater. Some of those were spammers or confused scammers, but many of those were new, contributing members. Welcome to Eater! It's nice to have you here.

Eater isn't just a website, it's a community. Thank you all for being part of it!

Happy New Year 2019!

Here are some other notable moments from 2018. This isn't an exhaustive list - we welcome you to post your own favorite moments, accomplishments or anything we missed.

January 31 - Justcold and some young ladies make many, many videos.
March 19 - Starbuck5's lad speaks to Lenny for 45 minutes.
May 5 - Several great submissions are made for a 419Eater Trophy contest.
June 10 - "Archie Fails to Join the Church of the Old Gods," but joins Eater's Greatest Hits
July 4 - Toastypants baits a lad into reading and recording the Game of Thrones book A Clash of Kings.
August 2 - Jayhawk gets a long-term loan. Really, really long-term.
August 7, 2018 - A new icon is added.
August 27 - Ben Loding is awarded a Golden Pig.
September 4 - After nine years spent in the Mod Room Hot Tub, a rather wrinkly jose_cuervo turns in his keys to spend more time taking selfies, writing VD love snippets, and hand-dying frilly boots. His efforts and contributions are appreciated by all except bware.
September 7 - oscarpiles is pulled, kicking and screaming into the Mod Lounge.
October 15 - bware419ers earns a Golden Pig.
October 21 - We lost baiter, ScamWarner Mod, and most importantly, friend, Toomuchfun.
November 8 - MrMystery314 convinces a lad to read and record Pride and Prejudice.
November 13 - Justcold gets wood.
November 14 - Birlic, wisely, compiled links to all his many baits and safaris in one place!
November 25 - Deniden's Mankini Lad gets a tattoo. Warning - NSFW. Other efforts of the lad have been compiled here.
December 29 - Following Birlic's lead, Limoline put all her baits in one place. In 8 months, she managed 45 bank accounts, 18 videos, 8 safaris, two mod avatars, and 23 different mangled names.

Notable Acheivements:

Credit Card reporting summary:

During 2018, credit card reports dwindled to a very few number submitted by baiters. We consider this a good thing as security standards increase, making it difficult for scammers to capitalize on compromised accounts!

Bank Account reporting summary:

Eater members continue to grow their bank account reporting. The final count of bank accounts reported for 2018 were 3,425.

Fake Site Summary:

Our site killers added 72 pages of threads to the offline fake sites forum in 2018. With 30 threads to an index page, and many threads having more than one domain on them, via nests, that is over 2,100 fake sites researched, reported, and killed with the help of members here.

Mules:

Through effective baiting and communication with the Mod Team and mentors, members passed the information of over 1,200 mules to ScamWarners.

Here's to even more lad pain in 2019.

Very well done! I missed a few of these and have some catching up to do! I hope to contribute more this year. Things have been slow for my characters but the effort continues!
