Got this amusing reply from one of my NOK lads when I told him I would call my banker, Mr. Hiltz, and have him transfer the money for the fees today.

(Big X - I hope you don't mind me borrowing your illustrious banker's name. After all these years, I can't think of a banker with any other name! Laughing

)

Of course, the lad panics at the thought of a real banker being involved who might expose his scam...

Well, of course - he, as a banker, knows well how venal and untrustworthy bankers are.

This, of course, leads to a logical paradox - does it make him trustworthy?

Big X - I may take you up on that offer. I have set it up to potentially use the evil banker modality at some point. So far, I have wasted 2 weeks asking what a "western union moneygram" is. Is that like a telegram? My character used to send those to her husband when he was in the war. Laughing

All bankers are crooks, all lawyers, solicitors and barristers are crooks but best of all, all money transfer employees are crooks - in the eyes of the lads. Telling a lad that you are going to get the professional advice from any of these individuals is likely to draw a nice and hurried response.
