Our dear friend James just emailed me out of the blue needing a boat tour. Rather than necro the old thread, I figured I'd start a new one.

Anyone else getting his emails?

Nice one Kitty - he's been getting the run around since July. He's sent me about 500 more 'cards' since then and a nice fresh UK bank account.
I'm about at end game with him - he's about to hear his bank account has failed and I think he'll desert me at that stage. I've thought that before though.
I think some of the 'cards' he has sent in the last week or two may have been genuine because the format changed as did the dates and security numbers. He was absolutely desperate to clear the last £1000 though.
A quick word of caution - he's a lot more suspicious now than he was. I can't understand why ......

ETA: Yep - he's pissed and has cancelled the booking. It looks like it's over to Kitty to carry the black pig baton.

We're just at the get-to-know-you (again) stage, and I'll send him a phone number today. I had to pull out some of my old spreadsheets & clean them off to take in the new cards.

I like to think that he's disastrous at other formats because he's contacted my original tour operator again for a booking.
This tour operator had a corrupt accounts department and chopped £5000 from under him but still he's back. I lose on one operator and gain on the other.
How's he going for you Kitty?

I believe it's somewhere around 30 new black piggies he's sent me, calvin! I had to adjust my tagline to accommodate the new stuff. I'm over 1000 cards from him over the past two years!

Just checked my records. He's sent me 52 unique cards since Oct 14th, and 9 duplicates (I tell him the bank noted those as stolen, and offer profound sympathy) and has charged a grand total of $9000 with $1500 reversed back.

Since September of 2014, he has sent me 1005 unique credit cards, with not one of them resulting in a cash payout for his "agent".

I do wonder if he sees us as simply an online verification system. If so, the cards with the most obviously fake expiry & ccv numbers are the ones I report back with a positive result. If the info looks real or not a lazy guess (simply duplicating a series of numbers in the original card number), they are not "charged".

If he is simply generating numbers, at least we're lessening the chances of a lucky guess on the other details, and hopefully preventing crime down the road by reporting the card numbers before anyone has a chance to try to use them. I report the cards & wait a full day before getting back to him. If he complains, I blame it on stormy weather.

He keeps me busy, that's for sure! Rolling Eyes

I follow the same practice you do Kitty - any card that has the remotest possibility of begin authentic is turned down and I use a pattern of only allowing cards where the CCV is a copy of 3 of the last 4 numbers in the card number.
That way he thinks he's cracked the CCV system and hopefully uses that with others, as you say.

On my first operator - I'm waiting for him to give me a mule in the US to send the "balance of payments cheque" to. He had to do this because his 'travel agent's' account stopped working Laughing

.What he seems incapable of realising is that the longer he leaves it, the smaller the pool of money to be returned gets.
The second operator is still doing the when, how many and how much dance.

So I find if I sit on his cards for a couple of days, he just sends me more. Lately they have a different format, but I'm still seeing a lot of guesses at the expiry.

Anyone else still on this lad? Calvin, did you get another piggy?

I don't reply over the weekend and I usually get the freebies like you Kitty.
He's happy to stick with one or two expiry dates for my not so attentive operator. The CVV are always but always some combination of the last 4 characters of the card number. I'm trying to train my chimp that it's actually the last 3 digits in a row. He's starting to fall in line.
I only got the one bank account then he switched to WU with my other operator - I was hoping to get a mule but he stopped talking completely at this point. I have no doubt he'll be back sometime.
I'm glad he's got your attention again Kitty - that'll learn him.

Sorry for the necro, but I thought my fellow boat company operators would enjoy this New Year's gift I sent to our lad.

Last week he sent a flurry of cards, and got alllllmost to the point of asking for the transfer, and then my accountant received the November statement, which of course showed reversals. I didn't tell him which cards, or how much. After a couple of days of silence, I got this note:

You told me about chargeback that occured in november ,and I reported the issue to my bank.this other November charge back, I don't know what to say about it.please find out how much was charged back and get back to me.

I hope he has a delightfully uncomfortable New Year. One of my resolutions is to squeeze more black pork out of him and get him to yell more in 2017.
