So my lad wants to send a "trusted ally" to get his cash and gave me an email address. When I asked the guy why he would travel for the lad I got this:

"He is a follower of The Illuminati and informed me of the difficulties that transpired in your business deal. I must help out a follower of the Light. He has also agreed to give me a percentage of the amount to be collected."

He's also using the name of one of that group's bad guys from the 1700's.

Wow.

I'm pushing the lad to tell me if his Illuminati pal is really a partner in crime or just an ITP. Given the amount of squirming he's doing I suspect it's the latter. He says it will be a few months before his "ally" can travel and I'll nail it down then.

somehow it sounds to me like a wicked baiter who claims to be an illuminati. and that baiter might be open to the idea of cash-baiting (which turns him into a scammer).

why would a regular ITP claim to be member of the illuminati. especially since there are a lot of conspiracy theories in africa about them.

My only goal at this point is to determine what the (maybe) ITP is really up to and what his involvement is with the lad. The cash-baiter/scammer is an interesting thought and makes more sense than a lot of other scenarios. Should be interesting to pin down if I can.

So I would send an evil baiter on a safari to the evil attorney?

For opinions from the more experienced, when I finally start a dialog with the "trusted ally", it seems that I could confront him straight on asking if he's

- A fellow scammer I'm looking forward to working with (and after he picks up the money I have another victim ready)
- "Fishing a bait", which I would think a lad wouldn't get and a baiter would
- An innocent person being deceived by a scammer (and I have the "do anything for money" message to back it up).

I don't see any downside or holes in this but I'm all for some commentary.

you could however tell him, that your grandfather once was member of the freemaisons (to be more precise lodge CDXIX), and that he may have had contacts to the illuminati branch in wherever you are supposed to be.

and then wait, if he takes that bait, or the hint in the code.
