Possibly a silly question, but what do the lads use when they are sending pictures of gold like this? This fellow is an absolute gent and included the bit of paper without having to be asked for the easement of my worried parishioners. I'm a bit worried that it's not a singed statement though...

But what has he actually taken a picture of? I'm presuming he hasn't got 10 bars of gold hanging around the house... ?

Lad gold bars are often seen in stacks on flimsy wooden tables that should have been crushed to powder were the gold real.

Likewise, Lad gold dust is often presented in sacks about the size of a two-kilo bag of sugar that should have burst long ago were the gold real.

Yep, 1 cubic foot of solid gold weighs about 1200 pounds, yet lads somehow manage to transport much more than that in rice sacks and flimsy metal trunk boxes. Rolling Eyes

I think you could be right, there certainly seems to be some striation on some of the vertical bars.

You know what Captain Jack Sparrow? My current gold lad has sent me the exact same picture of gold, without the writing in the corner (there's just a blank white space).

Hey Captain Jack Sparrow and LadWarrior. It looks like we are all baiting the same lad here judging by the photo and email addresses,but no mention of diamonds for me.I think I will have to enquire about that.

Also how's this lad at responding to you guys? As he's being quite lazy with me and I sometimes forget that I'm baiting him,but he's fun when you get him rattled especially as he thinks one off my characters is a criminal.....

It looks like cast metal but gold spray painted lead is a possibility.
A sophisticated in-person gold scam unrelated to 419 uses gold foil bonded to a block of tungsten, which has almost exactly the same density as gold. While tungsten is expensive it's a lot cheaper than gold. You need to know who you're dealing with in this game.

I'm not sure if I actually have the same lad as Captain Jack Sparrow (I doubt it) or if it's just a group of lads in Ghana who are too lazy to come up with their own photos of gold and just share around the same fake photos they have.

It's like the puppy lads... many of them come from Cameroon and have very similar websites. They just copy one another's scam because they're too lazy and unoriginal to invent their own scams from scratch. Either way, what matters is that we're wasting their time, regardless of whether it's the same scammer, the same group of scammers, or independent lads who are sharing the same scam modality (because 'scam packages' that lads share around do exist) Twisted Evil

Many years ago we used to talk about "lad starter kits." There were people supplying lads with basic photos, fake documents, and formats. We would see the same few pictures over and over from many different lads. This seems to have changed for whatever reason. But I have little doubt that there are still lads ready to provide other yahoozies with pictures or formats -- for a price.
