Hello everyone, I am new posting here to trying and figure out what the hell happened as I sometimes read all the crazy antics that goes on in this forum.
I have been messing with those Indian tech support scammers for a long time now. I am sure you all are aware of their existence. Hundreds of videos are on Youtube of people just trolling them, exposing them, or more or less, waste the scammers time.
Today I had somewhat of a strange and possibly concerning experience with these particular scammers. <snipped>.com.
Often, when these guys know they are being trolled, they claim they will call the FBI on you. I have grown to know it as an empty threat since these clowns are in India and if anything, has the eyes of the FBI on them. But today one scammer claimed that he will transfer me to the FBI. Before I knew it, it seems that I was transferred to some 911 call centre. I hung up and now I can't help but feel worried that this will somehow end up in my ass. I am using those free VOIP lines to call them, they are obviously using some industry VOIP system useing 800 numbers. What I can't get is how did they patch me through some 911 call centre when 800 VOIP lines aren't tied to any region? |

Do not post email addresses, profile links, or phone numbers without sourcing them to a scam mail, fake site, or other verifiable evidence of scamming. The potential for abuse of non-scammers is too great. We're not saying that you would point other baiters towards an ex-significant whatever, cheating spouse, or that neighbor who never returned your power tools. We are saying that in the past, others have. Moderators reserve the right to remove un-sourced phone numbers, links, or email addresses, or just delete that particular post entirely (they're like your credit card company, lots of reserved rights). |
I removed your link and moved the thread here as this is something we don't deal with. These types of phone scams aren't baitable. They are known for exacting revenge.
