Time for another one of Dr Philip McCavity's baits. This is an example of what happens if you manage to split up the lad from his lawyer and he thinks he can run you himself Very Happy

I have put it into two Acts - the first one is the traditional mugu time-wasting. The Second Act is where the mugu has lost all "control" of the situation and the good Doctor has fled, being pursued by the Mafia.

The Cast:

Wan Qin: Credit Officer to the Hang Seng bank, embezzler of Gen Ibrahim Moussa's money

Barrister Woo Cheng: Lad lawyer who very quickly got annoyed with Dr. M and was shunted out of the picture with heavy slaps

Dr Philip McCavity: Hapless dentist who really thinks he is going to get the money but then gets jittery....

Alfred Capone: The cause of McCavity's jitteriness - the London Mob who loan Dr M a lot of money....

Let the bait commence.....

Act 1 - An unexpected Email

HANG SENG BANK LTD.
DES VOEUX RD. BRANCH,
CENTRAL HONG KONG,
HONK KONG.
Dear Sir,

Let me start by introducing myself. I am Mr. Wang Qin credit officer of the Hang Seng Bank Ltd. I have a concealed business suggestion for you. Before the U.S and Iraqi war our client General. Ibrahim Moussa who was with the Iraqi forces and also business man made a numbered fixed deposit for 18 calendar months, with a value of Twenty millions Five Hundred Thousand United State Dollars only in my branch. Upon maturity several notice was sent to him, even during the war early this year. Again after the war another notification was sent and still no response came from him. We later find out that the General and his family had been killed during the war in bomb blast that hit their home. After further investigation it was also discovered that Gen. Ibrahim Moussa did not declare any next of kin in his official papers including the paperwork of his bank deposit. And he also confided in me the last time he was at my office that no one except me knew of his deposit in my bank. So
, Twenty millions Five Hundred Thousand United State Dollars is still lying in my bank and no one will ever come forward to claim it. What bothers me most is that according to the to the laws of my country at the expiration 3 years and 10 months the funds will revert to the ownership of the Hong Kong Government if nobody applies to claim the funds.
Against this backdrop, my suggestion to you is thatI will like you as a foreigner to stand as the next of kin to Gen. Ibrahim Moussa so that you will be able to receive his funds.

WHAT IS TO BE DONE:

I want you to know that I have had everything planned out so that we shall come out successful. I have contacted an attorney that will prepare the necessary document that will back you up as the next of kin to Gen. Ibrahim Moussa, all that is required from you at this stage is for you to provide me with your Full Names and Address so that the attorney can
commence his job. After you have been made the next of kin, the attorney will also fill in for claims on your behalf and secure the necessary approval and letter of probate in your favor for the move of the funds to an account that will be provided by you. There is no risk involved at all in the matter as weare going adopt a legalized method and the attorney will prepare all the necessary documents. Please endeavor to observe utmost discretion in all matters concerning this issue.
Once the funds have been transferred to your nominated bank account we shall share in the ratio of 70% for me, 25% for you and 5% for any expenses incurred during the course of this operation. Should you be interested please send me your private phone and fax numbers for easy communication and I will provide you with more details of this operation.
Your earliest response to this letter will be appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Mr. Wang Qin

Dear Mr Wan Kin',

Thank you for your letter below, this does indeed sound a most interesting business proposition. I must warn you however that laws in my country are most strict around this sort of thing so if we are to be conductful of business then discretion is of the utmost import. I am an important dentist in this country but am now averse to a bit of "investment"! I am providing you with my details as below. I hope this is the beginning of a fruitful relationship.

Dr. Philip

I have been in contact with Mr. Wang Qin since i am his lawyer and also the lawyer to the late General Ibrahim Moussa. I would like you to understand as i have also told Mr. Wang Qin the same, that this transaction should be highly confidential.

I have been an attorney of law for the past thirty years and i have made a name for myself. I shall prepare all the neccesary documents to aid the prompt transfer of the funds to you as the Next-Of-Kin of the late Genera Ibrahim Moussa but it would be highly scandalous if word of this should get out to any other person apart from the people directly involved in this transaction. I have a name to protect.

So i would advise that you should observe absolute confidentiality and follow protocol to make this project a success.

I shall be sending you a copy of the Sworn Affidavit that made me the trustee and sole executor of the late Generals will.

I would suggest that we keep a steady correspondence for the speedy transaction of this business.

Yours Sincerely,

Barrister Woo Cheng.

I do not think much of *your* manners for replying in such a brusque fashion to me. How dare you challenge me in such a manner? Did you say you were a barrister?

As it happens i am one of the UK's leading orthodontitic surgeons, specialising in impacted wisdom teeth on the upper left bite side of the mouth head.

If we are to have any sort of business relationship then I expect you to understand that it will all be done *my* way.

Before I furnish you with further details I will require some provenance that you are indeed who you say you are as I am all to aware of some of the frauds perpetrated by email people. I shall then respond with a copy of my passport and the other details you require.

We either dance or cease swimming. It's my way of the highway.

Dear Philip,

I want to appologise on behalf of the barrister for his rudeness. he called to tell me what transpired between the two of you. He is a rather short tempered person and rather full of himself. I had to beg bribe and cajole him into agreeing to help us. He can afford to walk away from this deal but i can not because as it stands i already have given him almost 3,000 pounds for his services.

I want to plead with you to condone his attitude for the sake of this transaction, i directed you to him so please assist me with this deal, we will both benefit from it immencely. please forget his rudeness, he can afford it because he has collected money and has nothing to
loose. Provide him with the information he needs so he can process the documents for the transfer of the funds. It is now imperative that we act fast becase we have spent some time on this and i do not want any suspitions aroused.

I now expect you immediate reply.

Wang Qin.

Wan Kin'

I am sorry Wan, but in this country an attitude like that from a so-called lawyer would not be tolerated. I am am extremely successful dentist in and I could buy and sell Cheng 10 times over with enough change to make a pair of moccasins out of his ashes. If these were the days of my grandfather then I would have the hide stripped from his back before having him hanged from the highest yard-arm in Portsmouth docks and finally interred in the old plague pits at Aldgate. I will not tolerate this from him or from any other indolent lackey no matter how great the potential rewards.

One must, after all, be civilised.

If you wish us to carry on with our business then we must find an alternative lawyer to commence our transactions. I am afraid this is the only way we can do business.

I hope to hear from you soon

Dear Philip,
I thank you for your reply to my mail. You have been most understanding. I agree with you that the lawyers manners where very rude and uncalled for, there is no excuse for him to have been rude to you apart from the fact that he wanted to show his importance. He is an integral part of this transaction he has to prepare the papers for the transfer, he worked for the late General and he knows exactly what to do apart from having documents that will authenticate our claim in his possesion.

I would now only ask one favour do not bother with dealing with him any more i will do that, just please send your personal address that we can use for preparing the needed documents, this is what now holds us back from the funds. I gaurantee that once the lawyer prepares the documents, it will take less than 48hours to transfer the money to your account. I would not want the episode with the lawyer to hinder the process of this transaction. I hope that you will agree to this and reply me soonest. Thank you for all your understanding.

Wang Qin.

With your money we now only need to find $105,000 (72,000).

I have been able to raise some at this end also.

I have borrowed 25,000 from my bank (I told them I was buying a car).
I have also got another 10,000 from my credit card.
Finally I have borrowed 30,000 from a local businessman.

Sadly this leaves us 7,000 ($12,000) short and I can borrow no more money. Is it possible that you can find more money do you think or negotiate the cost? I don't want to lose this business opportunity Wan.

Also the businessman is a very powerful man with some very nasty friends and the the interest they are demanding is *very* high. I will have to pay back an extra 15,000 to him for every week I have the money so we must conclude this business very fast.

Please advise me Wan as we are so close!

Dear Phil,
We have come too far to start with this show of distrust,I want to reassure you that you have no reason to fear because i am in as deep as you are in this. I am not scared that when the money is transfered you will keep it to your self because i have had no other reason but to trust you, so i plead that we trust theses people and send them the money for the certificates.

We have not gotten the certificates for a cheaper rate but i have had to make a deal and i promised that an intial deposit $108,000 will be made today while we will pay the other once the certificates are delivered to us.I have borrowed money also with intrest because i know that i shall pay back before the end of the next week, once the money is transfered to your account.

So, i know how you feel because i feel the same way but i am trusting them because i know that the people we are dealing with have been into this kind of business and they have a reputation for always delivering, once their demands are met. We now have to do as they have asked because once the bank has the certificates the funds will be transfered to the account you have provided.

We stand to loose all in this once the bank start investigations onto the reason why the funds still remain unclaimed, so act fast and do the needfull. I have promised them that the sum we have
now will be available today and i do not want them to feel we are not serious and give the certificates out because they have made me realise that the certificates are in high demand. It will all come out right, you and i shall pay back the money we have borrowed and still have
more that enough after the transfer has been effected, i know this with certainty, just pay the money to the account they have provided, there has already been a delay from your angle because i promised them its availability today, please do the needfull so we can have the certificates.
Send me the payment slip scaned and attached. I now await the the slip.

Sir,

I hope you will forgive my intrusion on this, the day of my daughter's
wedding. I am writing to you about a man with whom we both do business. His name is Philip McCavity, a dentist from South London.

Mr McCavity has borrowed rather a large sum of money from me in the last week. I went today to collect the first interest payment but he seems to have moved out of his house. I found among left items, printouts of some emails which have your email address on so I am asking if you have knowledge of his whereabouts. It is rather pressing I find him as he has my money. I wonder if you can help.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you know anything about this dentist man. I have a sentimental weakness for dentists and I spoil them as you can see. They talk when they should listen though, and now I need to find him before some unlucky accident befalls him.

I don't like violence, Mr Wan, I'm a businessman. Blood is a big expense.

If you do know his whereabouts I can be a very generous man with people who help me, very generous indeed. I look forward to hearing from you.

Wan,

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. Do not worry about my safety, i have left Britain and gone to Geneva, Switzerland, telling nobody where I have gone.

I am staying in the Five-Star Noga Hilton, Geneva under a false name. There is a lot of money here for me and I cannot help but think I would be better keeping it although I really do want to finalise this business soon. Sadly I've had to dip into the money and spend some of it on flight tickets, accomodation and food but this has only cost me 1000, leaving plenty for money transfer.

I must warn you that I had to leave in rather a hurry and I suspect that the businessman I borrowed the money from will be very angry and try to find me. If you hear from him (Fred Capone) then please don't disclose my location. I now can not return to the UK until this business is complete so we must hurry and finalise soon. I will now only deal with you so I expect you to reply to me quickly and let me know what I should be doing next.

Please contact me immediately.

Sincerely

Philip

I am flying out to Geneva in 45 minutes to begin looking for him and the

If you can help me locate him, I will offer you a *very* substantial cash
reward.

Think hard Mr Qin, Philip will sleep with the fishes very soon. If you can

Also the strangest thing happened. I could have sworn I saw Fred Capone at my hotel. I hid in case it was him but I'm shitting bricks here.

What do you recommend I do? We have to wrap this up very soon.

I knew he would find me eventually but this is too fast. Did you get my email about banking problems? I need your advice on how else I can send the money as Fillings Bank is not available in Switzerland.

55,000 will be enough won't it for now? You can't come to Switzerland withoput buying a Rolex watch and I feel safer wearing the money than carrying it.

Did Al offer you money to give my details away? Do not listen to him if he did! He always pays up to people who tell him, and he pays a lot of money too, sometimes more than the debt. It's his way of honour, but we must work together on this.

Please send advice soon. I have changed hotel. I am now in the Hotel President Wilson under the secret name Nicholas Parsons. The hotel is magnificent, as you can see from the website http://www.hotelpwilson.com/ but it is incredibly expensive so I can only afford a couple of nights. Please hurry and help me.

Wan,

Thank you for that tip-off. Alfred would pay you but we must remain strong as our business is nearly finished. I have had some trouble here in Geneva being unable to open a bank account to transfer the money as I explained so last night I went to the Casino de Genve and spoke with some bankers informally while we drank and played poker. They told me
that I should be able to open a bank account in Rome, Italy using the dentists surgery as a company to transfer you the money. Sadly I lost 27,000 and my new Mercedes to them playing poker but I think that with this information I can finally conclude the deal.

I have therefore booked a flight to Rome and have left Geneva. Hopefully Alfred will not be able to trace me as I continued using my false name when I booked the tickets.

I should arrive there at about 6pm European Time tonight and I will be staying in the:

The Westin Excelsior hotel,
Via Vittoria Veneto 125
Rome,
Italy.
Phone: 39 064 7081 or 800 228-3000.

I do not know what name I will be booking in under yet but I will let you know tonight so you can call me.

Please apologise to your people and tell them I am going as fast as I possibly can. Do not be tempted by Alfred, hopefully he will remain in Geneva I will lose him.

Sincerely,

Dr Philip McCavity

I wonder why it has now come to this, I am in a lot of trouble now that i might not get out from, the person i borrowed money from wants his money back and it will be very easy for the bank to find out about my involvement in the transfer of the Late Generals funds, You are presently
untraceable because you have run off and left me to face this alone.

If you are still intrested in this deal immediatelt send via westhern union the money left with you in bits to:

Mr Kin,

It appears that my business with the doctor is now complete. He is in my
custody after I found him leaving the Western Union ofice in the Plaza de la Cashola, Rome. We have had a long and painful chat and he has told me many interesting things about his business with you.

Mr McCavity has spent a lot of my money over the past 10 days fleeing from me and he has informed me that this afternoon he sent you 22,000 via Western Union to facilitate a business deal worth many millions of dollars.

Mr Kin. I want in on this deal. The good doctor has agreed that it is best
that an expert with money like me takes over. He will shortly email you to confirm this. I would like you to agree to work with me on finalising the transfer of the late General Moussa's funds.

To show you I am serious I am sending you a scan of the receipt I retrieved from Mr McCavity. You will note that I have blacked out the senders name and address and the security question. I would not, after all, want you taking the money without helping me to finalise our business.

I trust you will reply immediately so we can complete the arrangements. I shall ensure the doctor sends you the email confiming that I am now in
charge at this end.

Mr Kin,

Mr McCavity is in no position to continue this business. I think you will
agree that he has proven unreliable in these matters. I will now take over and conclude this business. You and I will both succeed richly and Mr McCavity will be happy to carry on with his life.

I understand that you have made substantial efforts in this endeavour thus far and I am grateful. Rest assured Mr McCavity will remain well and safe while he is in my care since it appears we need him to sign whatever
documentation you have prepared in his name. He has said you are a friend and I trust you will prove you are such.

We are all flying back to London this afternoon and I will then detail some
questions for you that I need answering so we can promptly finalise this
business and become even more wealthy men.

Please assure me that you are interested in concluding this business as I
have already wasted enough time with Mr McCavity. If we do not finish this then I am afraid that my usefulness for Mr McCavity is at an end.......

I look forward to your confirmation immediately.

Mr Kin,

Firstly I apologise for the delay however there have been some problems at this end. Mr McCavity has injured himself attempting to leave via the first floor window however I can assure you that he is well and he will email you tonight to confirm this.

Mr Kin, it is time to commence the final part of our transaction. I need
two things from you:

Firstly I underststand that Mr McCavity has spent most of the money which was owed (some 100,000) to you and for this I shall make him pay. I need however to find out exactly how much money is required to conclude this transaction. I shall pay whatever is necessary to complete these details from my own funds. Please provide me with an accurate figure in Great Britain Pounds 's so as I can liquidise some of my assets and arrange the transfers.

Prior to transferring the money I will require from you a photograph of you along with copies of any documentation appertaining to the money. This will ensure that I know exactly who I am sending the money to and that I am cited on the legal technicalities. To ensure that you are indeed who you say you are, you shall ensure that you hold a sign saying "I am Wan Kin, I want you to Phil McCavity".

I need a reply from you as soon as possible for the money and I suggest you make arrangements to send the photograph.
