Maria and Wayne met online and have been in love for 8 months now, but poor Wayne is stuck in Nigeria with his son and no means of getting back to the love of his life in England. Maria has tried to send money through numerous bank accounts, but Wayne failed to answer simple questions for WU SPTS and then had to endure a Dolla chop through MG. Poor Maria has been sent to prison and has the Anti Terrorist Police blocking her account as they think she is trying to send money to terrorists.
Along comes her very kind lawyer who offers to lend her £3000 to send to Wayne, and he comes up with the cunning plan to send the cash hidden in an iPad, through the courier firm that he uses all the time, GP5eTrak the most reliable global delivery service.
Unfortunately, the package is subject to a random check in the Cotonou, Benin Mail Office and the cash is found. Wayne is due to go to prison if he doesn’t pay off his hotel bill, so has no alternative than to decide, with the help of GP5eTrak Area Manager Mr PQ, to send his agent to Cotonou to collect the money. On arrival in Cotonou, the agent, Mr Olumide is unable to find the GP5eTrak Office. He is advised by Mr PQ that his money is in a van driven by the local Manager Mr RT, which has broken down outside a hotel in a town called Allada, 60 km away up a hell-hole potholed highway. Olumide takes a taxi/zemi-john to Allada, but since he didn’t buy a Benin SIM card, contact between Mr PQ, RT, and the Lad was difficult. Olumide later tells Mr PQ that one of the staff of the Allada hotel had warned him that Mr PQ was a Scammer. He evidently remembered SweetPoison’s 2 Lads, who were safari’id to the same hotel in December 2014! https://forum.419eater.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=259257&start=0.
After 3 hours waiting in the afternoon heat outside the hotel in Allada, Olumide made his way back to Cotonou and stayed the night in a hotel (to be refunded by GP5eTrak, of course) hoping to collect his package in the morning.
The next day, Olumide spends the whole morning outside the hotel in Cotonou, waiting for Mr RT to deliver his package, but after numerous phone calls, decides it’s time to make his way back to Lagos. Olumide becomes increasingly frustrated and the innocent Mr PQ has to put up with a stream of abuse.
It is soon disclosed to both Lads that they have been rumbled as 419ers and Mr PQ and Mr RT have stolen the £3000 and iPad.
It was made clear to Wayne, both by phone and email that he must tell his Mugu that he got the money and then, Mr PQ would not tell her she was being scammed.
