My lad is confusing me.

So I have this lad, my only love lad. He started off very laddish. Fell in love with me fast, then had a sick mother and asked if I could spare money to help. When that failed tried getting me to loan him money to help him get his business back off the ground.

One thing after another after another. Never giving up.

Of course all the while we are planning our wedding.

He insists I come to the Ivory Coast to meet him, alone. (mugging set up).

Then Sweet Poison started playing my mother in the bait and it quickly changed.

He now freely admits to been completely poor but he loves me and my kids. He begs SP to help pay for the wedding (Which she agreed). But now he really doesn't seem like a lad.

He is willing to wait for SP & I to fly there before he gets money. We've told him that my kids are coming and he is fine with it.

It is all very strange and I don't know what to do.

If I feel uncomfortable during a bait I drop them. If something is telling you to not bait this one, don't. You have to have a strong stomach for love lads. SweetP is an awesome baiter and I am sure she would be willing to give you some advice/pointers as she's been in contact with him, too.

Well SweetP is as unsure as I am.

I am fine with baiting him if he is a lad. But I really don't know.

I mean, surely lads don't want the whole family coming to them?

As SBAH says, if you don't feel comfortable then drop him.

I always work on the basis that anyone who asks a stranger on the Internet for money is either a scammer or a begger. Since he didn't start out begging and was romancing you before asking for money for various things, he's a scammer. Add to that the fact he is marrying someone that he has never met and it is 100% a scam.

I'm sure that if you carry on, something will come up before it's time for you to travel. Also, a couple of women and some kids wouldn't be much of a worry for a determined scam gang to "dispose" of if that was his plan.

Did you do a google search of his email to see if it comes up on any other sites, like scamwarners or romancescams.com?

These ailments of course are quickly forgotten. I can't find the messages about me going to the Ivory Coast alone though.

Then in the last two weeks since SP started baiting with me as my mother who wants to help with her daughter's wedding the messages completely changed. He is just begging for me to come to the Ivory Coast non stop and he is so happy because SP's character will help pay for the wedding when we arrive.

I am starting to agree with B8r that he is just happy to have his gang mug the two women and kids.

The first message is a typical Romance scammer line - send me money for my passport, which would be followed by money for the visa, money for the ticket etc.

What name was the Western Union to be sent in?
