I generally despise Dr. Phil but he may have done some good here. I feel that love victims lose the most-not just money, but self-respect, trust and self-esteem. I hate what scammers do to these lonely folks. |

Most of the scammers I deal with throw requests for $1000 at a time like it's nothing for a victim to give. It adds up in a short time. It is very difficult to let go once the hooks are in. You need a cold slap and a warm hug, all in balance to make sure you stop. |

I did not see this episode, but have seen similar in the past. I am always amazed at how hard the women usually push back in the face of overwhelming evidence that their "boyfriend" has lied. You can see why things that are so obvious to us get by someone who has been hooked.

The video was taken down.
But--though I normally hate Dr. Phil (I worked on several of his books in the past), I had today off and his show was on. It was another romance scam.
Lady got taken for almost $200,000 USD in less than a year.
She even sold her goddamn house to give him money.
Thankfully she has now realized it. She seemed like such a nice lady. Just looking for love. And she met the jerk on christiansingles.
I didn't care how Dr. Phil was so arrogant at times, but he did help her.
Speaking of help--I emailed one of my local TV stations again last night. At least once a week they do scam stories and tell folks to call the police if they've beenb scammed or think something is a scam. And I emailed the station (which I do at least once a month) and tell them to check out our sister site (scamwarners) and recommend folks check out that site about scams. And that the police can't do shit about some of these scams.
They have yet to acknoweldge my emails or have the decency to reply back.
