Hello guys,
We received an email from Ms Susan, who says work for Q&L Internation CO LTD (www.qliel.com).
They requested a quotation for wood pallets for a type of wood we dont have. I offered a different type of wood and they accepted it.
It already sounded strange, so I quoted them double the normal price to wich they said yes. Now they sent a contract accepting to send pre payment and to work with a letter of credit.
Finally they are inviting us to go to China to which we answer that we can go once we are already doing business together.

It looks like a scam but still cant find the tricky part.
Has anybody heard about this company before ?

I'd say I'm 99.9% certain that it's a scam but we'd need more details to be 100% sure.

Got the content of the email?
Also, have you tried running the header through our checker? There's a link up there near the top of the page.
And what's the email address they're sending from?

BTW: The website was created less than a month ago so that also points to it being a scam.

I have tracked the mail header and it comes from China, same city where they say they are located but different address. Now they have change the email address they write from, and the new one is [email protected]

We will not pay anything to them, actually they should send advance payment before we begin production. So there is no risk for us besides the wasted time.

If the site was created a month ago then I would say it is a confirmed scam.

Thanks!

OK. We have that 100% now.

Any advance payment will almost certainly be by fraudulent cheque.

Go down a couple of emails on this page. You will see that the exact same format has been used before by scammers (could be the same one or a different gang).

I wouldn't even bother replying to their emails. If you do, just tell them you know it's a scam and not to contact you again.

I just had the same experience as you are telling about, and with the same outcome. We were offered a draft contract that was looking ok, but we cancelled it due to the fact that "the smell wasn't good". We have also been through a similar case before and at that time the scammer requested us to visit them in Hong Kong, but 1 day before we intended to go, they suggested we should bring some gifts (USD IN CASH) to some local leaders, which they claimed would secure a better sales price for our goods ! Of course, we cancelled everything before it was too late, and I am 110 % sure we did the right thing.
