This was my first time conversing with a 419 scammer. I'm the blue letters.
Subject: Dear Good Friend
Dear Good Friend,
Compliment of the season to you and you family,
My apology for contacting you via this medium, the reason was due to the looming political situation in my country, I decided to use this because it is safer and more faster to contact you via email and to avoid interception of this letter by postal agents.
Though you may be surprised to receive this kind of letter from me since we have never met before. But, let me start by introducing myself, I am Ms Daniella Gbagbo, the second Daughter of the formal President of Ivory Coast Mr.Laurent Gbagbo whom the ECOWAS, AU and France have forced out of office recently. I know you might have be hearing what is happening in my country as well.
Mean while I got your contact through a liable network online during my search for a reliable and reputable person to handle a top confidential transaction which involves a transfer of fund to a foreign account and I decided to write to you in good faith with the hope that you will not let me down.
My father fell into political problem with his rivals Mr. Alassane Ouattara due to the election maul practice And also for the facts that the rival Alassane Ouattara comes from the minorities region.
Due to the rising problem of forcing my father out of the office during the crisis , He revealed to me that I should travel down here in Republic of Benin with all the documents that contain some huge amount of money which he deposited in a security company here in Republic Of Benin.
He further instructed me to contact someone overseas who can receive the money into his/her account overseas because presently we do not know what might happen to my father where he as been detain.
The electoral commission had by then already awarded victory to Ouattara with a 54percent majority, a finding supported by the international community. My father struggle to secure power turned increasingly violent until My father was finally arrested in under ground bunker stormed by pro-Ouattara forces on April 11 2011.
The total fund deposited with the Finance Company is $ 5,200.000 [Five Million two hundred thousand United States Dollars only].and meanwhile the fund was deposited with my name as the next of kin beneficiary, therefore i have all the right to apoint an oversea beneficiary to receive the money on my behalf abroad. I will give you more details and procedure information sooner as i receive your willingness towards my request.
As my foreign partner I have it in mind to reward you with 20% of the total sum been yur share for presenting the foreign account to receive the money on my behalf , and 5% percent for any kind of expencis handled by you during the transfer, and the remaining 75% percent we shall invest it in your country under your care and direction.
Finally please ensure that no one else knows about this money for my safety here and after the transfer to your country ,therefore kindly keep thisas atop secret until the money get into your bank account also it is important for my safety here and when i come over to join you in your country after the successful transfer.
Thanks and God bless you as i wait to hear from you sooner,
Daniella.
Subject: Re: Dear Good Friend
Dear Ms Gbagbo,
Thank you for your email. The looming political situation is dire indeed, it is very clever of you to use this medium to thwart the authorities.
I hope your father is ok; he is an upstanding gentleman of the highest sort, and a good friend. Many good memories of drinking expensive scotch, watching the elephants go by, and the sexy Ogopogo girls in their colorful, traditional, apparel - mama! I wish him well, and hope I can be of some assistance.
Do forward the five million two hundred thousand United States dollars to me at once! There can be no room for delay in situations as these, as you know, and it is important to take action as soon as possible. Naturally, I would be more than happy to take care of your expenses up front; just send your Western Union info to me at this address.
Take care, good friend.
Stephen
Subject: I received your email with lots of excitement
Dear Good friend,
Good morning and hope you are fine all together with your family, I
received your email with lots of excitement because ever since I sent
the letter to you my heart has been over occupied with thoughts and
fear if my situation will touch your heart to come for my rescue.
Firstly, I want to let you know that presently i am not free here for
the facts that i am presently living at the Orphanage home here in
Benin Republic until after all the problem get solved in our country .
As at Present, i am mailing you from the office of the Rev Father who was
in charged of the Orphanage home . I have already told the (Rev
Father Vincent Abraham) about my communication with you in regards to
my funds, and he as permitted me henceforth to access my email in his
office PC trice daily.
Life here in the Orphanage home as been so very difficult but i pray
that with your support i am going to be out of this condition and
start a new-life in your country after the transfer hit your account, I
have also been to the Finance company here for several times and I was
informed by the director foreign remittance department that
due to my status as a refugee here, the funds can not be released to
me direct else I must present a foreign trustee to stand on my behalf
to receive the funds in a foreign country .
Meanwhile, I have maked up my mind to come over to your country since
you have agreed to help me, even if you want me to come over before
the transaction will take place I will so much like it because I am
surfing here in the camp, I pray that God will give you the courage
and the heart to help me through out the transfer processing.
About me once again:
1) I am Ms Daniella Gbagbo 25 years old girl from (Cote d voire) but
presently here in Republic of Benin for the sake of this transaction,
I also have the backup certificate issued to my father during the time
of deposit and which I have presented before the Bank manager and i am
assuring you it is not going to bring any problem now or in future.
About my Education, I was admitted into the University in 2009 there I
did only 2 years Course in Accountancy before the problem started in
our country, but then I will like to continue my studies as soon as i
relocate to your country, because this is the only promise i made to
my father.
I therefore with due respect need your information as below which I
will include in the letter of authorization for you to stand as my
trustee to claim and receive the funds on my behalf as i am going to
direct you to avoid mistake.

I am waiting for this information urgent so that I can quickly provide
you with a letter of trustee which you are going to re-type and send
to the bank to enable the release and transfer processing of the funds
into your bank account.
And please remember that you should keep this only to yourself until
the money get transferred into your bank account, I do not want anyone
to know about it, because there are so many wicked people in the
world, they will see good thing coming to your way and they will stop
it by discouraging you because they don't want you to achieve more
than them.
I am a living witness, so therefore i need you to promise me that you
will keep it to yourself so that the whole transfer will be O.K and go
smoothly without any interruption, also need you to send me your photo
in your next reply so that I can know you more better than this.
Thanking you with lots of love and my regards to your family as i look
forward to hear from you soon,
sincerely yours,
Daniella
Subject: Re: I received your email with lots of excitement
My Dear Daniella,
It broke my heart, reading your letter. It must, as you say, be tremendously difficult living in the orphanage - especially as a 25-year-old former university student. I, myself, was forced to live in an orphanage well into my forties, so take courage. Just remember, things will get better.
I hope it's not too early to say this, but I sense a strong connection between us. Do you feel the same? Please tell me you do.
Stephen
Subject: I received your email with lots of excitement

possible so that i can be able to advise you about the next step to
take urgent.
I look forward to hear from your sooner as possible,
Sincerely yours,
Daniella.

Darling,
I'm so relieved to hear that the feelings I have for you are mutual, and that the "connection" I fancied existed betwixt us two is real. Could this - pray tell - be love?
As you asked, here is the photo:
This was taken the day I finally moved out of the orphanage, at age 45.
I hope you are as lovely as I imagine you to be. Why does my spine tingle every time I think of your loving embrace? Some day we shall meet, and consummate our love on the beach while loons cry out against the sunset sky.
Now it's your turn. Please send me a photo that is revealing of your true nature.
Waiting with bated breath,
Stephen

The lad probably dropped you 'cause he sees you as a Joker - I wonder why
Honestly, I think you went way too fast. You shouldn't mention WU yourself.
When the lad asks for payment through WU, start asking questions about WU - stall him as long as you can.
And don't send silly pics to the lad if he's not fully hooked yet.
Oh and BTW: lads playing the orphanage scripts are very difficult to bait and seem to drop you sooner than others.
Now, pick up another one |

Your jumpstart has moved him offscript quite quickly. But as bobdemol said: Don't rush too much.
Use your first baits to learn about the common scripts and look for points to interfere with his story.
You can also make up a skript on your own and try to guide your lad to YOUR story. |

I agree with the above points, but not every bait needs to go on as long as possible and turn into a 12-month epic!
Occasionally it's just funny to have a laugh and go for short, daft baits like this one. You're still wasting the lad's time, after all. |

I love how on the second email from him, after you expressed intent to help him, he puts the subject as ' I received your email with lots of excitement'...I bet he did! Also, what kind of refugee camp has surfing? Someone isn't allocating humanitarian funds too well! |
