Ok, so here's the story so far:
1) Scammer called me at work (DHL Agent) and wanted to receive package and have it shipped off. Not out of the ordinary, no red flags set yet.
2) Brand new iPad arrives from online retailer
3) Scammer calls and gives me details that package is going to Africa, claims he is in California, sends blatantly fake credit card and fake drivers license from another state. At this point I realize it's a scam, contact merchant and get them to take back the iPad.
4) I take the scammer's stolen credit card and use it on the DHL shipment -- a box of junk. Then a day after the package was picked up I called the card company and told them I found the card on the floor so they can cancel it. DHL bills the card after the package is delivered.
5) I gave the scammer the tracking # of another package that a customer dropped off.
Now here's the big twist.... the package got lost! It's been a few weeks since the package was sent, but it just keeps on circling Paris. The scammer has called angry, said his brother is an FBI agent, and we've just been stringing him along, having someone else call him from a different number and claim to be from DHL and give him some story to stall. We were able to say the package was misdelivered based on the incorrect tracking and that's where the situation stands right now. |

Dave,
Welcome to Eater. I have a question for you. Are you saying that you used a stolen credit card to ship a box of junk? I realize you canceled it, but from where we sit, that is entirely inappropriate. Why would you cause the victim of cc theft any more pain or confusion, even if it doesn't cost him/her anything?
Moreover, you are using DHL manpower to deliver a fraudulent package which is now unpaid for. Isn't that defrauding your own company?
Obviously, you are free to do whatever you want on your own time, but that's not how we do things. |

Hope to shit you covered your tracks well, OP.
If not, expect a visit from law enforcement and a charge of credit card fraud to be laid at your door. |

Seriously, no shit, no red flags at that point. Because isn't it odd that DHL would be contacted to send and receive packages? Thank for clarifying that isn't out of the ordinary

You mean verses CC fraud? Just because something is sent to Africa with stolen CC information doesn't make it a scam. It's CC fraud which you just admitted to engaging in.
However

Which is it? Is it "blatantly fake" or stolen?

That is CC fraud.

What is your point? That you waited for the package to be picked up so the stolen CC YOU used would be billed?

That is involving an ITP.
JMRazor is correct, you can obviously do what you like in your own free time or hell, on DHL's time. You are however not free to post about anything you like. Committing CC fraud and involving ITP's is against the rules. Freight baiting is just plain moronic.
Personally, I think your story is an exaggeration at best. If not, then in addition to worrying about the cops, I'd also start looking in the job want ads. |

I reckon the OP might have got the message that he screwed up big time.
Locking this now. |
