lost parcel

I was going through my spam folder and saw one saying I had a UPS parcel that hadn't been picked up and that I needed to contact them as there was a daily fee being accrued.

So what is their script on this? Obviously they're going to want money, but I can't really figure out how it would work. Maybe it is aimed at people who send/receive lots of packages so plausibly would have one they've lost track of, but it didn't seem very convincing to me.

Is anyone familiar with these that can explain more?

Its a scam. I use Amazon on a regular basis and I think they get some form of E-mail listing of some sort from them. I have had a few but Know what parcels are coming to my address by which courier at the time of order so I ignore them, but eventually you will be scammed out of a payment for this, that, or the other. Next time I get one I might start a bait!.The only problem is at times they have little information and the return E-mail don't seem to work so makes me wonder they need a certain E-mail program to open up.

This is basic 419 in my opinion. That box will have Gold Bars or Millions in cash or something to that effect. With the daily fees, transfer paperwork, security companies etc. the bills will add up.

Cool, thanks for the answers. I've got 30 emails in my spam folder a day so I don't see any reason to follow up on this one. I'm just getting started and trying to see which formats are most interesting to me.

Does the email have an attachment? These types of message show up in spam folders with instructions to open the attachment for details. The attachment is a .zip file that, when opened, plants a virus or a trojan horse on your hard drive.
