So, I put up an ad to sell a car, got an email from an interested party. But then realized it's a scam. Got annoyed, but then decided to play along... and then found this forum.

And so, I thought I will mine the scammer's information and post them.

I was about to made the payment when i had a little problem with the
mover they said they can only schedule the pick up date and time when
they receive their money for the pick up via Western Union Money
transfer in there head office in NYC, So i included $900 and $100 to
the payment i sent to your paypal account and PayPal will instruct you
on how to get the money sent to my mover.

The payment has been made and the money has been deducted from my
account...Kindly get the shipping fee sent to the name and address
below and send the details to paypal account customer care for your
total funds to be credited. I believe that since payment has been
made, the advert should be taken off the site and please do let me
know the location's address including your free date and time so that
i can give it to my mover to use it to register the date and time they
will be coming for the pick up in your location.

Guess what? I got fake paypal payment notices from my scammer.
I gave him a paypal account that I had not used for years that is under a fake name.

One word of advice. It's fun to play with them, but in this case they can track your real details. Never, ever, ever bait when they can find you.

It's all good fun but remember: we're dealing with criminals here. I am sure 99% of them are just cowards and aren't much of a threat, but that 1% is a group you have to be very, very carefull with. They don't back down from violence.

I don't want to frighten you but be careful!

Thanks for the information. Think I'm done wasting time on this. I'm sure I'll keep getting emails from the scammer and more spam now. I'll just add him to list of block emails.
