Right I'm giving up! Let's face it - I have a writers block. For the last week, I've been unable to ick up on my baits when the lads go off script and give in to my plots. I'm just staring at a blinking cursor, but nothing comes out of it. Nothing. Sure, I can straight bait, send out canned response, and string the on, but anything more elaborate than that - nope.

It's horrible - what am I going to do, and more importantly - what are my lads going to do without my lame plots?!? It's serious, guys, serious, I tells ya! Crying or Very sad

Any advise is welcome, even if it involves beating on stuff, getting drunk, or even laid. At this point, I'm prepared go give anything a try.

I have been there and what always helps me is making my "plots" movie plots. I just think of different movies or tv shows and make that my bait. It kind of writes itself. Just change small details like character names and place but keep the overall plot the same.

Or you use scripts for a while. I.e. prewritten replies, where you ramble about off-topic stuff which smell like money. And use them for all your mugus. And come back to normal "individual storytelling" as soon as you feel like it Wink

^^^ That's more or less what I do. The problem occurs when I run out of script and has to come up with more cunnings stuff. Wink

Wasn't a problem 2 weeks ago - is now.
Maybe banging my head into the pavement will help. Or better yet, banging some lads head into the pavement. Evil or Very Mad

Or just take a break. Sometimes it helps to take a week off. The lads will be there for you when your back and refreshed.

No harm in letting your lads sweat a while! Baiting can be exhausting, and if a few days break will mean you dont burn out (and leave baiting) then have a break. How about a week enjoying all the vices and see where you end up?

You need to think of this from a different angle. You're stuck and as a result, your lads are not getting the attention they deserve. Already, this is in violation of one of our most basic principles: never do more work than the las. Flip it around. You are a writer on the verge of a comeback and you are about to close a ten book deal. The only problem is you won't see a dime until you submit some killer story concepts and you're stumped. Now, if your lad can help you with that, that big fat check will be as good as yours... you get the idea. : D

I had a bait that was petering out and going nowhere.So I did a Mr Gomer dolla chop on the lad,then had my vic get in a terrible accident.Thankfully my vic had a friend who took over for him,and took the bait in a whole new direction.Got some laughs as the lad tried to explain who this Gomer fellow was,as he was the chief suspect in running my vic off the road.

Thanks for all the advice, guys. I have a bit of stress in my life these days - I guess that's where the reason can be found. Maybe a couple of days without looking at my mailboxes whatsoever will give me the breather I need - I can always extend the break to a full week if it doesn't help. Smile

Or even longer! It can be very nice to come back to a baiting box after a couple of weeks or longer and see the flood of desperate messages from your lads.

I also get tired with my lads/my characters at times. If I don't feel inspired but think I should write something, I send letters like these to my lads:

Etc. Etc. Moreover, some of my characters have been jailed and hospitalized several times. Right now one of them is visiting a friend who has no access to the Internet. She can be called though and she has been talking about the weather, love and other interesting topics with the lads on the phone. Very Happy

However, I must admit I'm not happy with my baiting company's customer service. The auto-response says, "We will get back to you as soon as possible", but nothing actually happens. Confused

I know what you guys are talking about... I can still write to my ongoing lads with no problems, because I can fabricate some problems etc... but the second I get a reply from fresh lad, I'm blank... I have this one gold lad but I just don't know what the hell should I write... Staring at empty email to send.... Rolling Eyes
