This lad actually did a lot better than I expected and I haven't even congratulated him yet. About 6 weeks and 13 emails to get this little gem and as always, it came as a surprise to me. I think he's hooked enough to start phase 2.

I ASEM'd about 250 lads and got 2 serious takers. There is another lad that may yet produce a video, time will tell.

I will get the questionnaire to you later this week, by this weekend at the latest. It is important that you fill it out completely because that will enable our legal department to draw up a contract that will be satisfactory to all parties involved. Should we decide to offer a contract, the contract will be written by our legal department in draft form and then it will be forwarded to you or your attorney for full review. If any changes are desired, your attorney will be able to note them on the draft and, if acceptable to all parties, the changes will be edited into a final contract that will go into effect as soon as all parties have signed. As we already have a full legal staff in place to accommodate Mr. Diddy's various business enterprises, we will handle all of the paperwork and filing here in the US, at no cost to you or your artist. Please note that you will be responsible for any costs associated with filing required paperwork with any local government agencies that may require documentation until such a time that we have effected a binding contractual agreement and have it filed here in the US Courts. Once filed with the US Courts and the contract is fully effected, you will be able to submit an expense reimbursement to accounting and any small fees that were required of you will be fully reimbursed to your agency.

Mr. Diddy believes it is of the utmost importance for the artist to retain the full rights to his or her music and will never require you or your artist to fully relinquish those rights. However while under contract with Last Train to Paris, LLC. or Bad Boy Records, we will retain 70% of all revenues. You and your artists will retain 30% of the net profit. This 30% is in addition to the base contract amount of $250,000. All expenses for advertising, promotion, food, travel, hotels, visa applications for foreign venues etc, will be paid by Last Train to Paris, LLC. once a contract is effected. We estimate a 3.5 to 4.25 million dollar profit per concert, which will be divided respectively between all artists performing during each concert, but that will all be in the contract at a later date.

If at all possible, we would prefer that you accompany your artists on the concert tour. It would be more comforting to the artists to have their manager, promoter and up to 20 of their closest friends and family traveling with them. This arrangement, we feel, will put them at ease and reduce the possibility of stress while performing. Again, all expenses for the above mentioned will be paid by Last Train to Paris, LLC. so we would hope that you would consider this option if your other engagements do not preclude you from doing so.

The reason behind Mr. Diddy's desire to reproduce this video is because many people consider the song "Subterranean Homesick Blues" to be the very first "Rap" style video ever produced. Mr Diddy is planning to re-sample the original soundtrack into the video that you produce. Since the original soundtrack will be re-sampled and edited into the video at a later date, there is no need to be concerned about the music at this point.

Please review the video carefully and try to reproduce the wording on the cards as accurately as possible. There are 64 worded cards total. The wording on each card is as follows:

As you can see, this should be a very simple assignment and, if I do say so myself, $25,000 is a very nice amount for two short videos with a total of 4 minutes and 30 seconds. Do not worry about any of the editing, as Mr Diddy has already arranged for his studio engineers to do any editing that will be needed. If you have any questions, please let me know as soon as possible. If you could also give me an estimated date that you will have the video completed, that would be great.

The world tour contract minimum amount will be $250,000 with a maximum amount of $500,000 plus royalties and expenses.

Your video was very impressive. Additionally the mixing and the voice-over work was very professional. Mr. Diddy has decided to compensate you for this effort with an additional payment of $10,000. However, there were some issues with the original video that must be corrected before payment can be made. I assure you that there is no need to redo the vocals and the background music as they are simply perfect. The main problem is the words on the cards are not clear in most of the video and the video was done so quickly that there are several edits looping the video.

The solution is simple: the video of the artist dropping the cards must be redone. It would be advisable to play previously recorded music in the background while shooting the video enabling the artist to more effectively keep proper timing and synchronize the action in the video and the rhythm of the song. Also the cards should be larger, white and with black lettering. Other than those very small issues, we really loved what you did with the remake of this classic video!

Because Mr. Diddy was so very impressed with the effort you gentlemen have put into this project, he has decided to waive the contractual 30 day payment period and pay immediately upon receipt of the corrected video. Mr. Diddy has also decided that you and your artists will be offered a one year $425,000 contract. Yes, Mr. Diddy did say that we would be giving you an additional $10,000 for the work that you have performed on the video. He did not mention anything regarding reimbursement for expenses. We typically offer our various artists reimbursement for expenditures, and I can certainly put that in your contract however, I am not authorized to make payment on any incomplete project. I will not be able to reimburse you for any expenses until you are under contract and unfortunately, without the corrected video, we can not execute the contract since the minimal requirements have not been met.

All that needs to be done is to re-shoot the video with cards that are clearly readable (you will recall that this was clearly stated in the requirements to which you agreed) and payment in the amount of $35,000 can be made within 24 hours. I will also need all of the receipts for any expenses which you would like to submit for reimbursement and I can have that payment ready at the same time.

Here's the last few email exchanges. I am going to try to safari the lads to Senegal (see last page of contract) after they fix the video and it is approved by Diddy. They tell me the new video will be in tomorrow... we'll see.

Please have your attorney explain the contract to you because I think you have misinterpreted some of the provisions. Last Train to Paris will be paying for all expenses. Regarding the other issues, I think you are referring to the section of the contract where it explains payment. The $425,000 contract is for a one year period. The first payment that you will receive will be in the amount of $175,000 USD if you will be touring with 20 additional people in your party. If you will be touring with less than 20 additional people then the first payment will be $125,000. The remainder of the $425,000 would be paid out in equal increments over the period of the tour. If you don't agree with that part, I can have our legal department change it. This was just a draft contract.

The contract is in addition to the $35,000 plus expenses that we are paying for the video. I did not understand what you are complaining about regarding paying for a reservation? What do you mean by "RESERVATION"? There is nothing in the contract that says you have to pay anything, nor do we expect you to pay for anything, so you are simply not reading the contract correctly. Last Train to Paris will pay all expenses.

Please let me know when you will have the corrected video completed and also let me know if there are any changes that we need to make to the draft contract as soon as possible.

Regarding the visas, our legal department will be handling those as well, so there is no need to worry about that. Due to the complex scheduling logistics of the World Tour, many times in the past we have had to change out tour dates and even the destination countries. We have no problem obtaining visas on very short notice. All we will need is the names, some personal information, passport numbers, issue dates and expiration dates. Please do NOT send this sort of information to me in an email, you can't be too careful theses days. I will get all the necessary information from you and all the posse members when we meet in September. Each individual will have to sign a power of attorney allowing our legal department to file for visas on your behalf. Again, this will all be done at the expense of Last Train to Paris LLC.
