actually i still dont know if i was really scammed but can you help me identify if the scammer is really a scammer through his yahoo messenger.you see, my mother met this man in an internet chat, he asked her to open an account in our country for his forgotten account somewhere in Ghana. After that my mom opened an account because she said that she trusted the man.as the proceedings go on. This man has not called her for many months already always having an excuse that he is very sick.instead him calling my mother ,his daughter is the one contacting my mother. My mom is confused with the account and further pursue of the said documents to be delivered in her hands until a man from a bank where the funds came offer an assistance to help her. The transaction until now is taking place it is about 2 years now.I am so worried if this is really a scam. I also did participate in paying it.All my savings was given. Can you help me how to know his location. I remember we did send money to him through western union with a name of another person, not his name. That makes me wonder why not his real name???please help me how to trace this man.if it is really a scam. |

This is a definite scam. It is a very typical ploy for a scammer to ask for help with a fund of money. There will be requests for fee after fee for supposed certificates. None of it exists, the scammer is playing all of the roles in the transaction. There is no account/fund. Please visit our sister site, http://ScamWarners.com and read the information on advance fee fraud on the forum there. You can also register for the forum and get advice. The warners there will help you sort out all of the parts of this scam and can help you warn your mother. First thing to do is to tell her to stop all contact with anyone who is emailing her regarding this. Good luck. |

It's a typical scam. Make sure everyone stops emailing him, and don't send any more money.
It's really not possible to trace him. If you post the headers from one of his emails, the most that would be possible would be to find out what city he lives in--but it still wouldn't be possible to track him down. Western Union is effectively anonymous; I'm guessing he used a fake name. I'm very sorry that you were scammed.
I recommend you take others' advice and visit ScamWarners. If you want, you could also post the scammer's email address here for revenge, and some people will kindly jerk him around. |

Now THAT sounds like a great idea. You might send me a private message here with the e-mail address he used/uses. I might be 'green' at this but practice makes perfect |
