Hello, I met this woman about two years ago at icq bali chat room. She quickly called me via mobile phone. We exchanged photos and everything seemed allright. We talked on IM. Because I did not have my own internet by this time we talked most of the time via mobile phone. I qickly fell in love with her. And she said she loves me too. Then after about 5 monthes of talking, she suddendly said she needs money, because she had stopped working at her old job at the office. And she wanted to open a new buisness and do a freelance job. I really loved her and sent her the money. All in all about 2000 dollar. I was so in love. We continued talking and last August she disappeared for a whole week. She did not call me during this week. She said she was busy because her brother got married. I am not sure if its true. Then after this week we talked again. Since last September I have my own internet. Since this we talk on hotmail and yahoo. She asked me in last October again for money but I refused. And about two months ago she said her cam and her computer are broken. I should send her 350 dollar, so she can repair her cam and her computer. I refused to send her the 350 dollar. She has got a lot of friends. Local friends and foreign male friends. (America, Egypt, Australia, Brazil, UK...)

To answer your question, it most seems like it. Asking for money, emailing random people for love, etc.

I feel sorry for you Yoshimo, if things turn out for the worst.

I hope it all works out... but be vigilant... if you've never met face to face and it's been this long... and she's demanding money... you may want to consider your options.

My mother went through this with a guy for just over a month, and he started asking for money too... she wisened up though and didn't do it.

Be careful.

Remember: She might be not a professional scam artist but could as well be just run-of-the-mill money digging and greedy. That she doesn't do this professionally doesn't mean she doesn't do it with you.

Is there some reason that she can not work? What of her family, does she still live at home? How was she when you told her that you would not be able to fund her broken computer? Has she offered to pay you back the money that you did send to her?? Vissit the other site, someone there can help you.

Yeah, thank you so much for everything. I visited your sister site. I showed them my chat logs from my chats with "her" on yahoo. And they clearly showed me that it is a scam. They said, that "she" is a dragon lady. And she probably lives where she says. Just the pics are not hers. But, a dragon lady from Indonesia? That sounds strange to me. A dragon lady from the Philippines, that sounds logical But from Indonesia? I am afraid, that "she" is a "he". And he is a black male from africa, living in Indonesia. And he does the scam. The voice on the phone and on the mic is probably just a hired woman, his girlfriend, wife, friend... whoever...

How can I be sure?

"She" said that she has got a male friend from Africa. She claimed, that she does not talk to him anymore, but I dont believe her.

She also said in last October, that she wants to visit UK with a friend. But then she said, she wont. She did not tell me any reason, why she cancelled it.

She told me, that she does a freelance job. (That's why she said, she needs my money. To set up her freelance buisness.) She works together with some Persons. And they all work with a company. I think it was like, she buys products from the company and then sells them.

Recently, she said, that she wants to be an event manager.

Yes, she said, that she wants to pay back the money, I sent her.

She said, she lives with her mother, father and sister.

I told her clearly, that I will not send her the 350 Dollar, for repairing her computer and cam.
But she continues to ask for the 350 Dollar.

What should I do?
