More education out there in the media. The general public needs all the education possible. It's Sunday afternoon and I just watched an NBC
news Dateline/ Chris Hansen 1 hour story on the 419 scam.

He met 2 in London, 1 in Amsterdam. at hotel rooms and a bar.
Trapped scammers on camera were wiping sweat. 1 laddo says "We
don't want this on TV or anything, must be confidential...bla,bla, etc."
Chris Hansen says "Right, we wouldn't want this splashed all over the TV"
as 2 hand-held cameras surround laddo.

I just wonder what kind of sentances they will get. My guess is a very short time, then deported back to their home country, and back to what they were doing before. Repeat process....

ICE seems to be one agency that likes to target scammers. Good work on their part, especially the dolla chop.

Why didn't they arrest Khammungkhune when they first encountered him at the airport?

This is a case where a severe, well publicized penalty could have some impact. Clearly one of the reason these scams are so popular is the certainty the lads have that no one is going to bother trying to catch them and not much will happen if they are nabbed.

I suggest hanging these guys and mass emailing images from the gallows to lads everywhere.

Scammers should be massaged within an inch of their life, then one of their hands should be held to a fire and broken off. That's how I would deal with them.

Those sound to me like the words of someone afraid of returning to his oga "broke and pocketless". I don't think they've caught the real scammer.

I know I sound like a lunatic calling for capital punishment or other severe penalties here, but this would provide some motivation for this guy to give up the oga's identity. If he's just going to hang out in a nice American jail for a few months and then get a plane ticket home why would he say anything?

This strategy has nailed more than one organized crime leader in the USA.

this is an excellent news story for our community.

I'm sure the man that was caught was more than likely a low-level crook, but hopefully the authorities can get names etc out of him to chase up his oga and crew.
