Thanks Lance. I do see what you are saying, but...

And don't get me wrong--I love how this thing has turned out and i think it's great

but...

innocents did get involved, and probably indirectly. Does the innocent rule thing only apply for direct involvement? And where is the line for in-direct?

And Rev Who was trying to get Wellington to get a cab (knowing full well he had no money) to the place to pick up the money. Isn't that hurting the cab driver who would not be there had this bait not happened? I'm talking about a cab driver towards the end of this.

I'm just curious about it.

It is the same driver...

if he didnt get paid then why would he take him a second time.

All he will do is take him to the cops again and get paid eventually

Are you suggesting that the only honorable safari is one done entirely in a vacuum?

It's improbable to send a lad on safari, and have him never come into contact with another person. Furthermore, you're totally misinterpreting the ITP rule if you believe that mere contact is a violation.

But not by us not choosing or targeting particular agencies or individuals (welllll, maybe stretching that on the Mr. Biggs, but see further below). The lads choose to believe and follow these ideas.

Airport Security - lad chose that involvement
Internet Cafe's - if they are not actually participant's (and several have been busted by Nigerian authorities for it) are gaining income.
Taxi driver most likely was paid, so at least on that point I would look at it as helping a (hopefully 419) innocent party increase his legitimate income.

So score overall, in my point of view at least;
- depriving lad of income and time and providing him with a criminal record (or increasing his by his choices) = +++
- helping the local economies (at least one business if not 2 or 3, and one taxi driver + I sort of expect the true artist will have been or will end up getting paid) = +
- & providing international audience with entertainment = + *

Ok, I am sure I am missing something. But to me this lad looks to be a struggling artist wanting payment for his work. So I feel for him a bit. But it sure doesnt stop me P!ssing my self laughing at it and then having to explain to my wife what is so funny.

But so I can laugh even harder without any twinge of guilt, what scam was the lad pulling in the first place to get him in this mess.

BTW.. Awesome job and keep the laughs coming. I wish I could get my lad to do a 1/10th of what you have done.

I doubt the lad himself was actually the artist though. More likely he's paid some local artist to do the job for him then passed it off as his own work. Lying is second nature to them.
If he really was an artist who could paint that well, he could probably get some honest pay out of it and wouldn't be trying to rip people off.
